Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
I mean i looked up at many fights, where guillermo jones etc, where when one fighter took some illegal stuff like weed, that the fight was overturned as an no contest.
so how aout what floyd took?
should it be a nc or is it okay what floyd did and nothing should happen.

If that was a NC, then so was Pac vs DLH.Chepppaaa wrote:I mean i looked up at many fights, where guillermo jones etc, where when one fighter took some illegal stuff like weed, that the fight was overturned as an no contest.

You need another option in this poll, bruh.
The ones you offer here have your fanboy showing a bit too much.

why was dlh pac a no contest?
you right, but you can simply vote nothing and say "floyd won"
Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
He technically didn't break any rules, so the result has to stand.
The fact that he insists on using an anti-doping organisation that has certain loopholes that he can take advantage of may leave a bad taste in people's mouths though.

so taking marihuana breaks the rules and taking some illegal stuff, that salvine or what floyd took that is nt breaking the rules?
Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
He got permission from the anti-doping agency to take the Saline drip.
I know it looks very suspicious and has damaged his credibility somewhat, but he didn't break the rules of that anti-doping agency (even if most other agencies wouldn't have allowed it).
People are rightfully suspicious, but there's not much they can do.
Wasn't he cleared of the Cannabis accusations?

Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
In order for it to be a NC (which it should be) Top Ranks legal team need to go after USADA.
They need to prove they're handing out TUEs simply cause Floyd said so. But they ain't gonna prove that because anyone can buy a doctor these days and they'll have a doctor on hand to lie that Floyd was so dangerously dehydrated an IV was the only option to save his life.
At least now everyone knows the truth. Floyd has been writing up these contracts for years with USADA. Contracts on his terms which allow him to break the rules but hide behind TUEs and confidentiality clauses. It's disgusting.

Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
Because DLH and Floyd did the same thing before a fight with Pac.Chepppaaa wrote:koolkc107 wrote:If that was a NC, then so was Pac vs DLH.Chepppaaa wrote:I mean i looked up at many fights, where guillermo jones etc, where when one fighter took some illegal stuff like weed, that the fight was overturned as an no contest.

Well, not exactly the same. Floyd had much more scrutiny.
Floyd did his IV in full view of USADA officials and had urine samples collected before and after each IV.

IVs are used for masking blood samples, not urine. Your damage control is in overdrive!

KC reminds me of my girlfriend. When she's dead in the water guilty and I've got the argument won, she'll pull up something from 15 years ago. Like the time those two strippers ended up sleeping over because they had nowhere to go. I couldn't just let them sleep in the street. I'm not a maniac. Strippers are people too.koolkc107 wrote:Ricky_ wrote:koolkc107 wrote: Because DLH and Floyd did the same thing before a fight with Pac.

Totally agree about the strippers. Hell, I can remember one stayed over and made one helluva breakfast the next morning. They are people not objects.caldo2025 wrote:KC reminds me of my girlfriend. I am not wrong about Floyd tho.
And everything points to him being clean.
The USADA DCO was with him the whole time. Saw him chugging that huge bottle of water after the weigh-in. Guy not being able to produce a full sample after drinking all that is a guy having hydration problems. Hence, the IV.
Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
KC, you need to answer me something then and if you can answer this, I may submit and declare you the victor. Tell me why Floyd weighed in a FULL POUND less than the the weight limit? Now i'm going to get all Al Bundy on you so get ready. I was a collegiate wrestler and know all there is to know about sucking weight. There's absolutely NO reason to be dehydrated when you are a FULL pound under the limit. If you're cutting weight and having a hard time getting to the number, you aren't making it by a full pound. You are talking an 1/16th of a pound. That needle on the scale should be moving like a see-saw, not dead like a fish.koolkc107 wrote:.

Lastly, Floyd obviously didn't have an issue making weight and the day before the fight, he's not doing anything but relaxing because the work has already been done in the gym so why would he ever be dehydrated badly enough to warrant medical attention? He's not running 10 miles the day before or sparring.

Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
To be fair, sometimes people weigh in under the limit from overtraining when trying to make weight. It's possible to overdo the dehydration also.caldo2025 wrote:KC, you need to answer me something then and if you can answer this, I may submit and declare you the victor. I think it is really time to put this to bed. The fight happened in May.

Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
Yes, clearly this is not going to be ruled a NC - many on here might wish it to be so, but it's not going to happen. There is no legal reason to do so.
Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
No Contest in the sense that it was:
1) VERY Boring
2) EVERYONE knew May would win a dull unanimous decision
Of course.

Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
If a superstar has the ability and resources to act as he see' s fit, why would anyone believe the testing organization said superstar has influence over is going to damn themselves whatsoever? What kind of fool believes that? What kind of fool just rolls over and believes what their told? One who's personal preference benefits from that I'm guessing.

Any rigorous exertion can lead to dehydration without it even being a matter of weight.

Re: Is Mayweather/Pacquiao a NC?
I don't care one way or the other.. They fought and the dice fell where it fell. I don't care who smoked pot, who did roids, or who had help from little green men... No matter what happened that fight was always going to have people contesting the result, making excuses, etc.. And the fact that it happened about 5 years too late only lessens my concern about the result..
