You've got to be really able to punch to put Wlad in trouble, Haye couldn't hurt him, and I think Fury's punch is like a fly swat compared to the big Ukranian. Sanders Ko'd him, but Corrie had one of the biggest left hooks going: Tyson has never faced a big punching heavyweight - the Cunningham knock down is all Wlad needs to see to know he can trade punches with Fury and probably wallop him inside 6 rounds.

I can't use the search function ATM, but I have tubechop videos posted in threads when this fight was announced of Wladdy doing a silly little dance & then the octopus thing when hit by a Wach right hand & a Pulev jab. I know Tyson's been put down hard but I've never seen his legs "go" when caught flush by arm punches--each time he got put down it was his shite defence that led to him shipping a thumping big shot. Fury looked absolutely mind-blowingly terrible in both those fights he got decked in.

I think Fury has the better chin (though it's nothing to write home about), Wlad the (much) heavier artillery. Fury has the better work-rate & engine imo, but Wladdy has the skill & the defence (Tyson's is predicated entirely on leaning back or swamping a dude in his arms as far as I can tell).

I think Wlad's gonna do him, but it's not inconceivable that Wlad gets put over.

You say 'thesedays' but is a bit of sillyness and fun worse than the bullshit made up wwf style 'hatred' thats been going on for decades?

Give me Fury in a Batman costume over Campbell and Coyle waking up one day and hating each other any day of the week!

I agree. There's nothing wrong with it. He's a bit eccentric but and two-fingers up to the establishment - probably part of his upbringing - but he looks like a happy enough chap and as long as he's not hurting anyone, so f*ck, as the man himself might say.
He's not got an easy job on his hands or Wladimir wouldn't be an undisputed world champion and mentioned in the same breath as some of the heavyweights of the 70's and 80's in conversations - but I say this knowing it's likely that Wlad might try to hug him all night.....although I don't think it's a good idea to try and lean on Tyson, although we shall see. Good luck Tyson Fury! :TU:

As horrible as it sounds, and of course it isn't Wlad's fault, the main reason for the boring accusations is his accent. If he was saying the same things in a brash cockney or Brooklyn New York accent maybe people wouldn't find it so boring.

Got to disagree with you on the chin thing. Fury has been decked by Pajkic and Cunningham with single shots. Not sure Wlad would have been dropped by those shots. I also don't think Fury could have stayed upright from either of the big right hands Haye landed on Wlad, in the 3rd and 12th of their fight.
I see your point and agree with it in many ways. But he's been put down from being unfit and sloppy , and generally gets up and wins by stoppage himself right after.

Whereas Wlad, he's had David Price-style endings a few times (sorry David), where he is completely gone, falling around like a drunk and being rescued.

Maybe Fury would be the same if hit with those shots, I dunno. But I've never seen him on queer street like Wlad has been several times.

I think we'll see if it counts for much soon anyway.

I don't find it boring. Quite the opposite. After learning his mother tongue, then Russian, then German, he takes the time to learn English, win Olympic gold, earn a phd, become heavyweight world champion, earn millions, and get almost every woman on ghe planet wet around the crotch. Fair enough he's never dressed up in a thirty quid Batman suit and got his cousin to dress up as a Joker but you can't do everything.

No, the main reason for the boring accusation is his performance in the ring. Lennox was hardly an entertaining guy in press conferences but he got a pass for that because he had a wealth of skills in the ring, (skills that put Wlad in the shade), was in more than his fair share of exciting fights (Wlad? maybe the ones he lost) and, in the main, fought the best (OK, so Wlad can't help this one, but it's not our problem as viewers either). Add this to the feeling that if this incarnation of him were around in the Lewis era he would just have been one of the better contenders and you get a picture of why this smug heavyweight champ grates so much on some people.

I've never actually known Wladimir "play up" to his boring "tag", actually. I always just thought he was a multi-linguistic gentleman with a bit of a teutonic accent, so maybe it was too subtle for me too. It's an excellent point though by Sklar. The WORLD OVER, there are people - even people in very humble employment - and one thing they've done is achieve a level of a second language (English) that is proficient. Now you step over to our shores. Not a f*cking chance.
Even some of these fancy dan footballers etc......speaking 2 or even 3 languages - despite having a totally different card up their sleeve to pay the bills with.
In fairness - they probably get it drummed into them more about the importance of learning English than your average 13 year old Brit does about French or German, but even so, British are pretty awful when it comes to reciprocating.

Just look at Wlad in that press conference - the bloke has absolutely nothing to prove, nothing to worry about and he knows it. Clearly more than happy for Fury (and his dad) to shout his mouth off and sell the fight because he knows Fury hasn't got the speed or the skill to avoid anything he decides to throw.

Having said that, I hope Fury never changes. Every sport needs it's characters and he's good enough to be mixing it at the top level for a long time so he will keep the division entertaining.

Yeah that's true, i'd forgotten those instances where his legs suddenly went, though have to admit to not watching a lot of his fight lately because he bores me to death, though the Pulev fight was a good one, and he came back to flatten the big lump seconds after he was shaken I remember. I'm amazed to just read the boxing Monthly poll and see the experts have it pretty much 50-50 in their opinion...16-15 to Wlad, though I think there is a lot of heavyweight British patriotism going on there surely...

And I don't care how many languages big Wlad speaks, he's boring in all of them

Anyway I'm looking forward to this one now - Anyone know what German channel will be showing it, since it's not being televised in the UK - ZDF or RTL ?

What is it with British boxers being bellends towards the Klitscho's?

Chisora gobbing on them, haye being rude and obnoxious towards them and now Batman.

We'd give our left arm for such a dominant and professional heavyweight ambassador like a Klitscho.

There have been a few packs of twats going over supporting lower-weight Brits on other occasions too.

We are just scum really aren't we ? We are no longer British gentleman, but childish slobbering beasts.

No wonder Sky didn't show the press conference live.
Here's what I learnt in this PR conference:

- Tyson Fury looks 10 years older than Wlad even though he's actually 13 years younger
- I quite like Tyson's dress sense
- Adam Smith looks like a scared hatchling confused at how he just sh1t himself
- Wlad is getting sick of this and wants to punish Fury
Spot on sir

Not a bad stunt, but their acting was cr*p, it felt forced therefor it came across as a bit sh*t. Tyson clearly loved the stunt though, thinks he's a comedy genius now.

Fury seemed very nervous during his rant at Klit. I dont think he has ever talked so much before about the possibility of losing in the run up to a fight.

If fear/nerves get the better of him on the night, he may throw the game plan out the window and go straight for a war with the mindset either i'm knocking you out or your knocking me out, one way or another i just want to hurry the feck up and get this over with.

Yeah, that's how I see it going. But I think it'll be because Fury doesn't have many answers to early problems. His size has been a heavy advantage until now, but his upright style's vulnerable to Klitschko's reach. He doesn't have enough flexibility around the hips to bob and weave effectively, while Klitschko has the tools to negate his keep-away game.

It could easily go the distance if Klitschko's able to control it at a canter. But I fancy he'll find his timing early, and that'll give him the confidence to pace himself for a shorter fight. Besides deus ex machina, the most realistic way for Fury to win this is behind a focused jab at his career-fittest.
