I imagine if someone bumped I to either Pedroza or Lockridge and told them that there were arguments and discussions about who won their bouts in 2015 they would think they were either being wound up or someone in an asylum had time on their hands.

2 great fighters though :TU:

Another scoring from the Juan LaPorte's whining supporters: Eusebio Pedroza vs Juan LaPorte
Round 1: 10-9, Juan LaPorte
Round 2: 10-9, Juan LaPorte

Round 3: 10-8, Juan LaPorte...One point deduction from Eusebio Pedroza for low blow.

Round 4: 10-9, Eusebio Pedroza
Round 5: 10-9, Eusebio Pedroza
Round 6: 10-9, Juan LaPorte
Round 7: 10-9, Eusebio Pedroza

Round 8: 9-9, Even...Pedroza won that round clearly, but was deducted again for low blow

Round 9: 10-9, Juan LaPorte
Round 10: 10-9, Eusebio Pedroza
Round 11: 10-9, Eusebio Pedroza
Round 12: 10-9, Eusebio Pedroza

Round 13: 9-9, Even...One point deduction for Pedroza for fouling and using the elbows.

Round 14: 10-9, Eusebio Pedroza
Round 15: 10-9, Eusebio Pedroza

Pedroza would've won comfortably if there were no point deductions. The judges took 3 points from him, and he still won the fight 143-140. That means 8-5-2 in rounds. He came like a great champion down the stretch and controlled the fight. He was the BETTER HOMBRE! Stop whining, Juan LaPorte!

I had it 143-141 for LaPorte and I scored round 3 10-7 for him because of the point deduction and the fact that Pedroza was saved from hitting the canvas early in the rd when Laporte knocked him half way across the ring.

Pedroza was clearly the better fighter and those terrific shots to the belly were detrimental to LaPorte's health

Pedroza won clearly, palooka. Watch the fight and you'll see, down the stretch, Pedroza gave LaPorte a whupping. I am saying down the stretch, now. Not the whole fight

It's a bout I've not yet seen so have no view on it, if I get a break this weekend I may give it a go :TU:

(Still think it's not easy for a stated fan of a boxer to judge impartialy though).

That's right, I admitted i don't like Pedroza. But I scored the second bout with Lockridge in his favor by 2pts, and I had him winning over Lujan by 7, so how does that make me biased ?

'shots to the belly' is a very mealymouthed way of describing Pedrosa's frequent vicious very low blows.

Eusebio Pedroza had 3 pts deducted in his fight with LaPorte, in addition to what I thought was a two pt rd in the 3rd when Pedroza was visibly hurt. So with that in mind, Pedroza would have to have won by rounds, say 10-5 just to secure a 1 pt victory. I sure didn't see that happening in the bout.

Pedroza was not down in any part of the fight. It was not overwhelmly visible that he was out of his feet. LaPorte won that round, not by 10-8 margin. He won the round 10-8 for Pedroza's low blow

Round 3 would have been 10-8 to Laporte, because Pedroza was lucky he fell into the ropes after he got nailed with that big right. With the deduction it should have been 10-7 Laporte. Starts at about 10:10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILDS0IiUExA

Sorry, but, if you don't go down, and you was not overwhelmingly beaten to a pulp, I cannot see round 3 in favor of Juan LaPorte 10-8. It was 10-8 because of a low blow.

Now, Eusebio Pedroza vs Bernard Taylor

Round 1: Even
Round 2: BT
Round 3: Even
Round 4: Even
Round 5: BT
Round 6: EP
Round 7: BT
Round 8: Even
Round 9: Even
Round 10: Even
Round 11: Even
Round 12: EP
Round 13: EP
Round 14: EP
Round 15: EP

Bernard Taylor fought a negative fight. To beat the champion, you got to overwhelm him. He ran the whole fight. You got to throw more punches than that. The Panamanian Scorpion was the busier fighter and was fighting like the challenger. I think he won by the score of 147-145 and 5-3-7 in rounds. Taylor thought that he had the fight won. Not like that, mister! You gotta throw more punches than that. Running around like a chicken won't make you points. It make you a survival boxer. That's all. I am glad that it was a draw, but, Pedroza won that fight. Like always, Pedroza was great down the stretch. A mark of a great champion. One of the top 10 best featherweight boxers ever.

I have scored the Ali vs Norton II fight once more. There's no way that the great Muhammad Ali won that fight. Ken Norton had the cleaner punches and was punishing Ali with body shots. He had him in trouble on the ropes in many occasions.

I scored it 116-115, Norton. Norton in my view, won the 3 fights.

116-115 = 1. You have Norton winning by 1 whole point, and you say that there is no way that Ali won.
Norton had him in trouble on the ropes on many occasions. I will tell you how many times he had him in trouble: Zero.
Not sure what is the worst, your math, your logic or you seeing things that simply did not happen.

This is a post on the scorecard thread between Seamus and I on the Ali-Norton II fight. I've watched it twice and I never saw the controversy in it. Both times - 40 years apart - I had Ali a comfortable winner. Seamus appears to agree. We agreed on 7 rounds, had a total of 3 even rounds and disagreed on 2 rounds. Good fight Ali was a clear winner on my card.

Muhammad Ali 7-4-1 on rounds.

Can't see a case for Norton winning this fight as some people have claimed over the years. Whenever Ali used lateral movement and his jab he dominated. Norton made it competitive and had his moments, often when Ali layed on the ropes, but in the end, Ali's movement kept Norton from throwing the combinations he needed in order to win.

Seamus, just saw this in the past pages. I too never saw the controversy in this bout. I'm in the minority on this series because I agreed with the decisions in all 3 bouts. Anyways, you and I are fairly close in score.

I Will see Ali vs Norton II again for the third time. It was impossible for the cash cow to lose a second time. That was not going to happen twice. Norton would've had to knock the Greatest out. When it comes to Ali, there is no real sportsmanship

Scoring Ali vs Norton II for the fourth or fifth time that I have seen it, I didn't see Ali winning even if I was rooting for him.

My scorecard this time:
Round 1....Ali
Round 2....Norton
Round 3...Ali
Round 4...Ali
Round 5...Norton
Round 6...Norton
Round 7...Norton
Round 8...Ali
Round 9...Norton
Round 10..EVEN
Round 11..Norton
Round 12..Ali

Norton won 6-5-1 in rounds in my view. And by the ten-point scoring system of 115-114. Close fight. I think the best fight of the trilogy. The judge$$$ couldn't make another Ali loss. That would've been terrible for boxing for him to retire. Ali came well prepared, but again, he lost this fight. He was in great shape. He even looked in his face that he seems confused and probably thinking that he really lost. He pushed his cheerleader Bundini Brown away. That doesn't look like a confident estate for a fighter that was always super confident before or after a fight.

Next? I am going to see fight #3 between them at Yankee Stadium

That is about how most people saw it,which is why there was little controversy after this fight.
Amazing with so much of the boxing establishment against him, Ali put that aside and did what he had to do to win fights.
