DeGale has power early as shown against Gonzalez,Periban and Dirrell,if he could pour it on straight away i can see James putting Bute away in similar fashion to Froch,if it can be helped then James would be best avoiding the mid to late rounds, maybe DeGale might go out with a plan to KO Bute early

Agreed, but it's a good fight for DeGale. Bute brings with him a certain pedigree as a fighter and as a former Champion there is an amount of prestige in defeating him. I applaud this fight if it does turn out to be DeGale's first title defense.

I just want to see Chunky stay active, if that means fighting a former champ then fine. I think it would be a very easy night for him.

I wouldn't go that far, Bute is no bum. It could be a bit of a test for DeGale is Bute lands a few clean shots and gives him something to think about. But I'd still fancy James to come out of it with his belt intact around his waist.

I think that Bute is quite mentally fragile, and if James goes in with an aggressive mindset, it could be an early night.

He has shown an aversion to unbridled aggression, where it can startle him. But Bute has shown us that he is a fighter of some quality (with his defenses of good B-class fighters like Brinkley, Magee & Mendy) and that should count for something we would are rating him as a fighter.

I think the Bute then, against the Bute now, is a completely different animal. Don't get me wrong, I know Bute has some talent, he wouldn't have held the belt for as long as he did otherwise, but he can get overwhelmed.

Bute has way more than a punchers chance here. Dude can pop man, dont forget that. And de gale does not have the speed, power, aggressiveness, chin etc, that froch had.
Dont get me wrong, i agree that bute seems done, but he still enters the ring.

I think Degale has much more speed than Froch had!

Degale can switch off in some rounds so its more his stamina I'd question. Seems to have a pretty good chin too!

Bute has been shot as f*ck since Froch "Cobra'd" him. This should be a blowout TKO for Degale.

DeGale is overrated, so even the shot Bute has some chances.

Carl Froch didn't have any speed; Degale is way quicker, other than that, you're right.
