Gentiane Lupi on the side lines

I will not be fighting till next year.
Whilst in hospital with Pnuemonia , it was discovered that my lungs were not performing at their best due to a blood clot (pulmonary Embolism) that has been there for some time, and explains why I had been finding the whole training and fighting thing a bit difficult lately.
I will continue to train until I can fight – and this will be the biggest challenge to me, as I will now have to train more like a Jedi. I had 5 more fights this year booked but these will now have to wait.
This week I was elevated to from an Interim World Boxing Champion to the World Champion as the former World Champion was stripped for not fighting me. This is the biggest Title that I have won so far and it’s ironic that it was without throwing a punch and against someone that I had chased hard to fight.
I also checked the WMC rankings and I am ranked number 1 in 6 Weight Divisions and I am also ranked the Number 1 Boxer on the NZ Boxing Rankings across all fighters. This makes me the Pound 4 Pound best Boxer and Muay Thai fighter in NZ.
I would love to say that this is merely a bump in the road, and because I am so fantastically mature I know that when I look back that that is exactly how I will view it. But at the moment it is a mammoth soul eating mountain and I look forward to scaling it and sticking my lethal flag in the red peak of it.
My mother who is a highly experience Intensive care cardiac and respiratory Nurse said to me that with something like a pulmonary Embolism in her professional opinion she shouldn't fight again however that is up to the doctor and Lupis team said they are taking it day by day as depending where in the lung the clot is it can be cureable but even if it goes away it wouldnt be a good idea to fight again
