Matthysse by lamont Peterson type destruction.

Postol will move for as long as he can but lucas will catch him and when he does its all over.

I wonder which fight will have the better ratings, this one on HBO or Broner's fight on Showtime?

Think I've watched Postol v Lundy on YouTube a bit ago but obviously Lucas is a different calibre of opponent.

Does Postol have a chance ? Bookmakers in the UK aren't writing him off and he looked massive in press conference photos.

I fancy Matthysse to win on points,he can punch but they Eastern Europeans are uber tough, ive only seen Postol once when he KO'd Aydin and it was a beauty of a KO,not that much else on his CV though and Matthysse has a wealth of experience,i was impressed with his boxing ability in the Provodnikov fight,i thought he pretty much dominated Ruslan that night

Maybe finally Lucas Matthysse will become a world champ

I think Postol is the better technician in that his punches are straighter, his timing is better, his footwork to control the distance is better...

Image

Postol is a good fighter, patient, opportunist... GOod execution and remains focus... he barely loses rounds

Image

Postol is the better fighter technically but who's more efficient at the top? Matthysse has that pop factor...

Image

everything he lands is very efficient... Body shot liver KOs, grinding combos to the head and body...

Image

Image

Matthysse is a very good fighter.

IMO it will be very interesting to see which gameplan Postol will chose. He has the best straight punch arsenal so if he decides to stay on the outside, hit and move... He could use his superior skills to frustrate Matthysse. but he will need to use everything he has to remain evasive to neutralise Matthysse. He will have to show perfect execution... which is hard when you are under pressure for 12.

I think Postol's chance aren't great, but he is getting underestimated as far as talent. It's all about him and how well he can execute a winning gameplan for 12.

Only thing I'm sure of here is Postol won't get a KO. Other than that anything can happen. I see Postol having some success. But inevitably being caught, hurt and dropped if not stopped.

I fully agree and it's most likely the most probable outcome.

Possibly Postol could win by a late KO/TKO, but I agree it's unlikely.

Arum talking up Matthysse Pacman at a catchweight.

I'd love to see that fight.

Can't overlook Postol though. He's more than capable of getting 7 rounds in the bag.

I love when HBO and Showtime both show fights on the same night. That means I'm taping one and watching the other until 3am. Saturday is going to be a good day....then wake up and watch football all day with a sauce cooking on the stove. Man I'm pumped for this weekend. With that said, I've got Matthysse winning this fight easily. EA-SI-LY. So much so that I'm thinking about watching the Broner fight live and taping this one.

Matthysse is being paid $500,000, while Postol is receiving just $90,000.

Golden Boy is a better promoter for boxers to sign with than Top Rank.

That uppercut he landed on Aydin was a beauty but I can't see Matthysse walking on to one.

Watched that fight this week Postol looks a very solid all round fighter but started that fight very slow other than that he shown good punch variety and decent work rate.

He could sneak a points win tonight providing his chin is solid, getting out of the early rounds without a scare is his key to victory.

Jack Reiss is the ref. :(

Arum wants Matthysse to win, so he can make Matthysse-Pacquaio. That means the shady Reiss will do all he can to help Matthysse win.

tall lanky postol keeping matthysse on outside from beginning.
mattysse looking for opportunities to pressure and dig in with hard shots.
not a lot happened in first but i guess i gave it to postol just for circling and
jabbing. 2 and 3 were close because matthysse was throwing and landing
more meaningful shots, but still not a lot happening and postol controlling
action with jabs, movement, and clinches. if it keeps going this way, we are
going to start calculating how many rounds postol needs to secure the decision
before matthysse needs a ko.
