World Title fight Ramirez vs Mckenzie ended in a Draw

Post by TheBeast »

Ovill has that deceiving record... He is as competitive as guys with 1..2..3 defeats... even some undefeated fighters. He has an impressive record lately...almost a cinderella man story... could get there with a win Friday...

Ovil has a SERIOUS shot at winning here... In fact, i think Ramirez got a way more complicated assignment with Hernandez bailing out...

Hernandez was WAY better offensively but Ovill has more durability and experience to deal with aggressive brawler punchers like Ramirez.

Ramirez likes to rush his opponents and bully them... impose his strenghts and pop with close hooks... I think that's where Ovill's surviving skills and experience will come in handy. Ovill's more compact effective arsenal could then capitalize on ramirez average chin.

Victor is a very entertaining brawler puncher. He should be seen as one of the most entertaining Cruiser in boxing. If you let him get inside the pocket... you're pretty much done... at least if it's in the first 3 rounds you're probably done unless you are very durable. Those hooks on the inside are heavy.

Image

Ramirez is vulnerable though... his balance is all shifted forward and his chin can't handle his heart....

I would love Ovill to win but I think even he can't pull it off with 11 days notice.

FairPlay to him for taking the fight though.

I hope Ramirez wins.

The man has shown a lot of heart, the way he's come back from past setbacks.

Ramirez got hurt by lesser fighters than ovill in his comeback... IMO he has a decent shot and is a tougher fight matchup style wise than Hernandez

Why did Ramirez have 4 years out ?

Thought he was quality against Afolabi.

However I am English so I'm rooting for Ovill.

Afolabi can make guys look good at times though, he seems to have developed that sparring partner mentality somewhat.

I'm going with McKenzie in this one.

Despite being shorter, Ramirez looks the much bigger man naturally.

MacKenzie did well in rounds 1 and 2, being elusive with good footwork.

Ramirez coming on a bit in round 3.
