I’ve just had another look at this card and I’m chuckling to myself at how this is a PPV. Fair play to Hearn if he can sell it well but it really is funny. You have Kell Brook, a very good fighter and could possibly become a great one but in terms of the general public is pretty much an unknown versus Chaves, a fighter who has fought some good fighters but has beaten NO-ONE of note. His best win is over Omar Weis who was a contender at the weight below over a decade ago but has since become a journeyman. Hardly a big fight.
Then you have the highly anticipated McDonnell vs Parodi; a fight between two well know, proven world class operators. Or not. There have been many Saturday and Friday fight night cards that have been better than this card. The mind boggles. Sometime I think I’ve woken up in some parallel universe, I really do.

The boxers' purse's ought to be published along with the PPV take, PPV should be a special occasion thing and not something foisted on us every 2 months.

I am not defending the promoter - but if people are buying it, then why not carry on selling it ?

I think that he is testing the water with regards to Kel Brooks popularity and will very soon want to do the same with Anthony Joshua.

Yeah, I see your point but its getting me to the point where I cancel the sky sports, its silly for me to keep as a boxing fan - its not really the money - I just feel badly done to :OhYes:

I fell out of love for boxing for a few years there, started getting back into it again over the last year, but when I see crap like this it just reminds me why I lost all interest for a few years. Absolute joke.

It's not PPV material - but it's a good nights boxing to go to live.
Locally there's interest - Shafiq v Ginger Rocket. Wood v Wale are local derbies.
Lee Appleyard another local lad.
The question I can't get the answer to is who is making the decisions re PPV.
Sky ? Hearn ?
Hearn has to do what he's told.

Agreed. People bitch at Hearn, but I suspect this is Adam Smith's call.

Is this fight seriously going to be PPV???? WTF? Whatever happened to people earning PPV Status? Nowadays, anyone can have a PPV fight. Sugar Shane Mosely had about 16 buys. If this Brook/Chaves fight was on HBO then i'd make sure that i was home watching it live but there's no way i'm paying a dollar for it. I'll get it on Youtube the morning after.

not talking about the likeyhood of said fights, just listing the only potential kell brook matchups that are ppv worthy.
