Where'd you get that price mate? Next I can see is 4/5 which is still good value. The Insider wrote:On it.freddydoesdallas wrote:South Africa -15 against Scotland seems very good. South Africa are full strength pretty much and need to win. Scotland have made 10 changes due to injury and also knowing that their big must win match is next week against south Africa
Chelsea 5/4 against Southampton is a decent Bet too IMO.

It is 4/5. My mistake, I'm renown for it on here. My tablet must auto correct it or something.Deno1986 wrote:Where'd you get that price mate? God bless Bernard Foley!
Freddy, did you back him for top points scorer in the end? I remember you were debating it.

What were the odds on Australia before this match? This was a classic 'Bet on the other guys and all will be ok' scenario.

5/4 I think we're the outright odds.Riddick Blowe wrote:What were the odds on Australia before this match? This was a classic 'Bet on the other guys and all will be ok' scenario.

Off topic, just had a bet with a lad he's 15 stone 6' never run a marathon he's signed up to Mancheser marathon, never done one before most he's run is 8 miles in 1 hour and 10 mins, reckons he can do it sub 4 hours. Got £250 he can't easy money?

Re: Betting thread
Depends how serious he takes his training but i'd say the value is in your favour. The manchester marathon is meant to be quick and there won't be as slow a start as in the London one. However, 2 lads i know who were both very fit (one a former area boxing champ & one a decent level footballer) both wanted to break 4 hours and got nowhere near it in the end.Nightmare Roy wrote:Off topic, just had a bet with a lad he's 15 stone 6' never run a marathon he's signed up to Mancheser marathon, never done one before most he's run is 8 miles in 1 hour and 10 mins, reckons he can do it sub 4 hours. Well I know a few guys who do well under four hours. A club runner who does around 3hrs, an ex Rugby League pro who does about 3.5 hrs and a generally fit guy who does the same. My dad always targeted sub 2hrs 40, and he was a painter and decorater.

The problem with betting on football is that the bookies pretty much always get the price right. It's crucial for them not to make mistakes because the knowledge across the country is so high. Feeks like anything that affects the odds the bookies will be on to it first without fail. The Insider wrote:I literally have no idea about football and wont be betting on it Again.

Golovkin to beat Lemieux in rounds 1-3 at 7/2 looks an excellent bet to me.

I wonder whether Lemieux will play it safe rather than come out bombing.... It sometimes happens when you get a fight that's meant be a barn burnerjohnswan1 wrote:Golovkin to beat Lemieux in rounds 1-3 at 7/2 looks an excellent bet to me.
Re: Betting thread
I've been thinking about that GGG bet too. Unlike the last fight with Monroe, he isn't going to want to take any chances so if he lands something early, I think he will push for the quick finish.
Also as I'm going to the fight, it's a hedge against it being just a formality for GGG.

Re: Betting thread
I would have been on this but I feel like you sometimes can't account for a fighter's grit in surviving like you want to. See Buglioni vs Chudinov. I know Lemieux isn't the most solid out there but I just see it as a mid-round stoppage I think.bruthead wrote:I've been thinking about that GGG bet too. I took Brook at 17/2 to KO Jo Jo Dan in rounds 1-3. Knocked him down twice in the 2nd round, should have put him away in the third, it ended at the end of the 4th. I think this will be over in rounds 9-12.Riddick Blowe wrote:I would have been on this but I feel like you sometimes can't account for a fighter's grit in surviving like you want to. Re: Betting thread
17/2 was a decent price for that, although Brook isn't such an early-rounds killer and Dan hadn't been blown away before IIRC so don't think I would have gone for it. I got Chudinov 1-3 at about 13/2 I think, but it seems it wasn't likely to happen. I would want about 9/2 to bet on GGG in 3.Batley18 wrote:I took Brook at 17/2 to KO Jo Jo Dan in rounds 1-3. Yes it was a good price, and it should have come off in the end. I also took Chudinov in the first 3 as well.Batley18 wrote:17/2 was a decent price for that, although Brook isn't such an early-rounds killer and Dan hadn't been blown away before IIRC so don't think I would have gone for it. I'm going to be watching fiji v Uruguay so will have a handicap punt. Fiji battled hard against the welsh and gave their all for a big win so might be a bit flat this time out against a Uruguay team on double the amount of rest time.
Uruguay +37 with laddies is where my money will be going
