Look out. Wilder vs Jennings - Jan 9th?
Wilder vs Jennings being touted for January 9th.
http://www.BS.com/wilder-vs-je ... 9th--96609?
Rumors are swirling of a possible fight between WBC champ Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34 KOs) and Bryant Jennings (19-1, 10 KOs) on January 9th.
The rumors began to circulate when Jennings posted a message to Wilder on Instagram on September 27th, hinting that a deal was being discussed for January 9th.
Those rumors have no picked up some steam after Wilder's manager, Jay Deas, made it known that his fighter is likely going to have another voluntary defense in either December of January.
Wilder is mandated to fight Alexander Povetkin next. There is a scheduling issue because Povetkin is facing Mariusz Wach on November 4th and Russia and there would be no way possible to get prepared in such a short time period for a Wilder bout.

I've allways said Jennings was the better boxer, if Wilder can proof me wrong I would definetly be surprised, so I'm really curious if this match will really happen.
*There's one thing I'm not sure about, if Wilder loses, who's the new Mandatory? Wilder or Povetkin? And within what time does that fight need to happen again?

It will still be Povetkin I reckon the fight happens around April/ May just depends on if either gets injured in upcoming fights.asdfjkl wrote:I've allways said Jennings was the better boxer, if Wilder can proof me wrong I would definetly be surprised, so I'm really curious if this match will really happen.

Wow, much better opponent for Wilder than I expected. I was assuming we were gonna end up with someone like Banks or Arreola.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being someone like Wawrzyk but if it is Jennings it's a big step in the right direction.

Jennings is a very good fighter.
I find it difficult to believe the craven Wilder will face him.

I would have no problem with Wilder facing Jennings first.
I think Jennings is WAY WAY WAY over rated.

Jennings is arguably a top 5 heavyweight and easily a top 10 guy. Calling him overrated is asinine. He would be a VERY tough fight for Wilder.

Jennings would beat Wilder, of that I have no doubt.diddy wrote:Jennings is arguably a top 5 heavyweight and easily a top 10 guy. Calling him overrated is asinine. He would be a VERY tough fight for Wilder.

Jennings ain't a bum, someone that wins against Perez, Szpilka, Fedosov, Tupou and all that on KO within his first 18 fights is the real deal.PsychoGamerTwo wrote:19-1 with 10 KO's? Who is this bum? Is he any good?
Even Klitschko said he struggled against Jennings, Klitschko even lost a few rounds against him, there aren't many boxers that can claim the same in the past 10 years. And even 20 years, because even most of the fights Wladimir lost he was clearly and heavely winning on points.

The "he is a bum" comments will show up if Wilder beats Jennings....just like Stiverne.PsychoGamerTwo wrote:19-1 with 10 KO's? Who is this bum? Is he any good?

Re: Look out. Wilder vs Jennings - Jan 9th?
jennings has consistently defied the odds.
rarely has he gone into his big fights as the favourite...but he's always proved people wrong.
he's challenged for the undisputed title...and gave klit a fairly good fight
as things stand Wilder is yet to fight a realistic world class heavy...the likes of stiverne, molina and the last one had massively inflated world rankings that bore no relation to their skill or records.
nevertheless Jennings will be the underdog in any potential wilder match-up.
jennings wins.

I think this fight would shut down like 14 topics you've made about Wilder.Freedom2013 wrote:Jennings is a very good fighter.

Also, I wouldn't call any man who got in a professional boxing ring against any opponent of the caliber of Bermaine Stiverne a coward.
Stiverne could render over 99% of the men on this planet unconscious in a fight. Coward?

Good fight, Jennings is the kind of opponent the WBC champ should be defending against.

Re: Look out. Wilder vs Jennings - Jan 9th?
Not going to happen. 1st, Jennings is associated with Rok Nation, him appearing on SHO is unlikely. 2nd Jennings is not a stiff or a bum. In other words, not kind of sht you find on Wilders typical menu.
Re: Look out. Wilder vs Jennings - Jan 9th?
Why would he? Do you expect that he actually, you know, watches boxing matches?Like a Boss wrote:You don't know who Jennings is?PsychoGamerTwo wrote:19-1 with 10 KO's? Who is this bum? Is he any good?
You're being silly and antiquated. I stopped watching boxing in 2005. I find out who's the best by reading the forum.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have Erislandy Lara posters to put up.
