Good luck to Steve. Not much exposure for him here in Australia out of sight out of mind hopefully that changes with a few more wins.

Boxrec have changed his opponent to Kevin Engel.

Ortuz must of pulled out. Disappointing Engel looks ordinary.

Seems to have been a lot of fighters pulling out of a lot of fights lately.DA GOOSE wrote:Boxrec have changed his opponent to Kevin Engel.

I notice Engel has lost his past 7 fights. He has also lost to both Blake Caparello (points) and B.J. Flores (stoppage).

Flores did outweigh him by 10lbs but yes disappointing that he's not fighting Ortuz.Like a Boss wrote:Seems to have been a lot of fighters pulling out of a lot of fights lately.DA GOOSE wrote:Boxrec have changed his opponent to Kevin Engel.

Size is definitely an advantage. Funny how another B.J. Flores opponent was criticized by some for not allowing him to enjoy a size advantage over him.DA GOOSE wrote:Flores did outweigh him by 10lbs but yes disappointing that he's not fighting Ortuz.Like a Boss wrote:Seems to have been a lot of fighters pulling out of a lot of fights lately.DA GOOSE wrote:Boxrec have changed his opponent to Kevin Engel.

I think that opponent was the I.B.O Cruiserweight champion of the world yet wouldn't allow(or offered incentives)for his opponent to come in 5lb under the Cruiserweight limit. And had promised his fans a big fight after his previous defense of his title at 84kg lasted all of 29 seconds IIRC.

Very similar to what the WBC world middleweight champion did recently in his title defence against another well known Australian.

Anyway Lovett KO 2.
Way to go Steve. hopefully Ortuz or another step up in opponent level next for tough love.
