The Chef likes to work from the boundary of the pocket with mainly hooks... his superior reach and pop and those precise cumulating hook are usually enough to keep his opponent out of striking distance.

He also has a decent straight right but falls with it a little. I like his lengthy uppercut that he mixes well while applying pressure.

His good work rate, cumulating pop and entertaining offensive style make him a fun fighter to watch!



Add the fact his father is the ATG Julian The Hawk Jackson, That he trains him and is in his corner and that the kid has a great personality... you got a fan Favorite right there!!















Uzcategui is an entertaining fighter to watch... He is offensive minded. Usually prefers to apply pressure but can also be on the backfoot jabbing and using his straight punch arsenal



When he is confident or goes for the finish, he likes to operate similarly to Julius in that he grinds from the boundary of the pocket with lenghty hook that get a little wide... he over commits a little too



It will be an interesting fight. I think Also both have wide shots, Julius has the straighter arsenal, the better reach and power too. His size will also be a problem for Uzcategui. Should be an entertaining TKO win for the Chef

His opponent is a good step up from the previous opponents he has faced and has shown durability against Korobov. I would safely say Jackson UD, But a KO is also likely.

Did anyone else notice Virgil Hunter giving instructions to Agenis Mendez between rounds? Not sure if thats common, never seen that before but its pretty freakin shady for a commentator to do that.

Julius got caught early not controlling the distance with Uzcategui applying pressure and using a straighter arsenal of punches... Bolivita never let him off the hook after that even though the ref pulled a "Bute vs Andrade 1" move giving more time for Julius to recuperate.

I think Julius will learn from this. There was no quit in the chef

Jackson was basically a nobody with a puffed up undefeated record. Uzcategui destroyed him, and Jackson showed nothing that indicated he'll ever be a contender. Particularly not considering that he's already 28 years old.

The Karl/Olvera fight had some tremendous action despite it initially looking like an easy showcase for Karl. Karl eats WAY too many shots. If he can't improve his defense I dunno how long he's going to last in this sport.

Vazquez/Mendez was ugly as sin, as expected. Mendez deserved to win although the 99-90 scorecard was absurd.

I had Vasquez winning clear myself. Mendez rarely got many punches in that fight. I thought he got a gift. Vasquez has an ugly style that is hard for judges to appreciate but he deserved the win here, just like he did against Mickey Bey...both boring ass fights. But fights than Vasquez should've won.

I thought Karl was having a helluva hard time with Olvera early on, and I had him losing the first 3 rounds, but to his credit he found a way to turn it around, and swept the entire 2nd half of the fight with a knockdown in the 5th. Giving him a 1 point victory on my scorecard, and the UD on the official cards.

I agree with you about Jackson. I'll always root for Julian's sons because I'm a big fan of his, but I can't see a bright future for Julius. John still has potential though.

Julius boxed with a clear head for about 10 seconds... hard to judge a fighter with that performance only... if you watch his career, he has talent... just wasn;t able to express it last night. i'll give him another shot at making adjustments

I had it 95-94 Mendez, a draw minus the point deduction. I thought Vazquez did well early with his crazy lunging and mauling but that Mendez started timing him better with jabs and check hooks in the 2nd half of the fight. 99-90 Mendez was kinda crazy, Vazquez easily won more than 1 round in the first half of the fight.

I have a feeling we won't be seeing Vazquez on TV again. He's already known as a fan-unfriendly fighter, so he really has to keep winning to get opportunities. This loss could hurt his career quite a bit.

John Jackson is good. Legit. Was beating the day lights out of Andy Lee and is a good boxer who walked into a huge punch by Lee as it appeared Lee was on verge of being KO'd after being dismantled for 5 rds.

Julius...isn't legit.

There's no comparing the brothers.
