I'm pretty sure 12 hours have passed since Palooka's time on the clock came up, and if not it's definitely gonna be within the next 20 or 30 minutes.

My Cruiserweight pick is going to be Marco Huck

Seriously? This was first set up on the 6th, and it's the 8th.....and everyone is moving forward.

Well...since it's my name that was passed, I'm not surprised.....

Take a few more...let me know when I can chime in. OR do I have to wait to the end?

Can I accept last shot at the CW's and take first shot at the SMW's?

Is that an option? A texter rammed the back of my car....took me out for a few hours. cripes.

You were online during the 12 hour window when your pick was up. You were saying something about how the draft should be in the order of when people signed up...all the while not making your pick when you were #1 in the draft.

Scrolling through to see who is who I think is going to muck up the process.

Agreed. Because of the unique nature of this season (having 2 weight classes) there has to be a balance. I will confer with the other Commishes and see what we come up with, there's still time enough yet to try and work something out.
Easy enough fix to me. Put Hog at the end of the CW round for being late, then at the end of the SMW round. I'll keep my first pick at 168 and #13 at CW. Still should be enough talent all around, but at least the people that joined on time aren't at a loss. Anybody that joins after Hog, we'll do the same.

Okay, here's how things are (from my time at least) - Armageto announced my pick 08:42 PM - DaveyMac was then on the clock...
DaveyMac's 12 hours has run out...

Kevo is up... He has 7 hours, 55 mins remaining to make his pick.

bah, This system is fubar.

I'll take Orlin Norris.

What it should be is the very first post should be like this;

manager A Evander Holyfield
manager B Joe Palooka
manager C Leon Spinks
Manager D 800am 10/9/2015
manager E 8pm 10/9/2015

and so on. If all the people ahead of you have picked before your time then you can go ahead and we get ahead of the clock.
But this whole idea that your pick clock begins when the person in front of you picks is just stupid. Perfect example I was 11th, first two picks take 20 hours, why would I check in? THen the next 8 picks take just a few hours total and suddenly I'm on the clock with no idea and miss a pick.
We don't even MAIL the people after our pick. I mean it would seem to me if someone's clock starts when the pick ahead of them is made then that person should be responsible for mailing the person after them.

Sorry to bitch but this is just a total screwed up system. Which is I guess par for the course in boxing. Any baseball or football fantasy league would look at this and just die laughing at how half assed it is, which I guess mirrors real life.

Managers are repeatedly encouraged to send a preference list before their pick comes up in order to prevent them missing their 12 hour window. If you read the 2nd message of this thread, you will hear my harping on about it.
DaveyMac wrote:We don't even MAIL the people after our pick.
I ALWAYS pm a Manager if they miss their 12 hour window. But I can't be online all of the time, Managers are expected to familiarize themselves with their draft position and plan ahead accordingly.

As I said, you are entitled to your opinion... But it has been done this way for YEARS now...

Good luck with Norris.

This is exactly what I mean.

How does you PM'ing them after they miss their pick avoid missed picks?

If the guy who picks BEFORE them PM's them when he makes his pick then nobody will ever miss a pick. And you don't have to be online all the time because it is the responsibility of the guy before.

It's a simple reform that would make life a zillion times easier for everyone.

As for a preference list I think it's awkward to have people sending in preference lists to people who are also drafting. There is just no way, no matter how ethical someone is, that that kind of information doesn't influence their picks.

You misunderstand me, they are encouraged to PM their preference BEFORE their pick comes up... Normally, we would encourage Managers to PM us their top 5 picks... So, with that - they should logically be looking counting four draft picks before themselves, and that would ensure that they get one of their top 5.

It's really a matter of common sense.
DaveyMac wrote:It's a simple reform that would make life a zillion times easier for everyone.
As I have already told you in PM..... This is the way that things have been done even before I became a Commish.
The current draft structure has been accepted by the vast majority of Managers which have come and gone through this place. The current system is not to your liking, I accept that. But as of the present, there has not been any discussion as to changing the draft.

:o

Moving the goalposts here, Dave... So what are you saying now? The Commissioners should not be Managers?

- Let me say one more thing to you Dave, regardless of the draft - there is NO WAY to guarantee success in the Sim, no-one can safely 100% predict who is going to be successful with each coming season, if we could - then there would be no point in playing. I don't like what you are implying here.

Kevo has 4 hours, 47 mins left to make his pick. The Super Middleweights will be next and the Commishs have lists, so we can name the first 4 picks, after Mr Kevo's time is up.

I'm logging off for rest of evening here, I fancy a pint or three.

Have a good night gentlemen.
