Zolani Tete signs with Fr@ank

Post by digzee »

Tete is just about to sign s 3 year deal (fighting 3 times a year). His win over Butler must of impressed Fr@nk highly as well as us, I wonder what Paul thinks about this. Its great news for us as he's a genuinely world class super flyweight and could see some super fights with the class in this division.

Yeah he spoke very well after the Butler fight. Not sure about the SA market though as there not that big on boxing and there looking to expand elsewhere I believe.

I've seen Kazakhstan, India and Russia quoted as part of the expansion, no idea if they're looking at anywhere else though.

Great signing, I was really impressed with the way he fought against Butler. If I remember correctly you could get odds of 6 to 1 on him winning that fight, I wish I'd put a few quid on him!

The South African boxing scene is pretty much dead. Were it not for Rodney Berman I suspect there country would be in the state South Korea is. Tete will hopefully be fighting over here regularly. Interesting division is 115 thought not sure if Frank can really do much with him

Ah yeh I forgot about Russia and India but didn't know about Kazakhstan. I hope they sign up some eastern European amateurs to excite the Russians and Kazakhs, we might see the next GGG, Kovalev built over here.

So he'd shoot himself in the foot to build Tete who will struggle to draw?

I'd have assumed they'd have had him with his passport out looking towards things like Inoue, Cuadras, Arroyo, Kono/Kameda, Sanchez rather than keep him in the UK beating guys who could draw a bit.

His manager did say something like 'Tete makes everywhere his home when he fights so fighting in England will be no different', so sounds like he will be fighting here. He'll be fighting here in December, will be very interesting and exciting next year watching him.

Do you know what's happening with his brother?

Franks never been scared to match his guys.
I don't imagine he will match them right off the bat, I imagine he will build and position everybody and match them when the time is optimum...

Somewhat of a trend with Munyai and Klassen both fighting in Britain recently. Don't think the latter is attached to any promoter over here though?

Good fighter & good addition to allegedly in my opinion. Frank must have some plans for him & I am sure we will find out in due course.

butler was Fav but there wasn't that much in it. 15/8-9/4 was the best price...
