Kelly Brook pay day ?

Post by Floyd the snake »

Interesting interview with Eddie Hearn on I film london this week regarding the Kell Brook fight , with Kell's fight not PPV anymore Eddie has to honour the contracts fully which will now not be covered by a non PPV show . Eddie more or less admitted that money from the Klitscho /Fury PPV show will be used to cover Kell's purse , so it looks like Kell will have to wait 5/6 weeks to be paid in full which breaks all the BBBoC rules regarding purse payments . Will Kell be happy with this agreement knowing that Eddie is fast to call allegedly on late payment of purses , knowing Eddie comes on here using an alias it would be interesting to here his reply ?? .

Something tells me Matchroom Sport have the money available to them to pay the fighters on time before the money gets recouped via the PPV in November.

Peculiar post.

You can accuse Matchroom of various things, but not paying people is horseshit.

Sorry Floyd, I think you have misunderstood how business works. Brook's purse won't be contingent on the Fury PPV, and Matchroom will have plenty of cash in the bank to pay him on time.

The money is coming from the PPV because they can't afford to pay Brook with the ticket sales and Sky money, Hearn didn't say it outright but Kugan pushed him enough to get it out of him. I don't think that will mean he has to wait for his purse though, I'm sure Matchroom have enough cash in reserve to pay him straight after the fight and even if they don't, they'll be able to get an overdraft to pay him.

I know they pay on time , but on this occasion it looks like they're using money from nov 28th to pay part of his purse , Eddie's words .

Using money from Nov 28th to cover the purse they would have already previously paid him!

Or...

Using money from Nov 28th to put back n the bank to cover the expenses they paid to Kell Brook on Oct 24!

Can't really moan about this. Honouring the original deal with Brook. Financing it via the money matchroom make from Klitschko/Fury ppv.

I'm only commenting on what I heard from Eddie 's interview , blatantly obvious that Part of Kell's purse is funded by the 28th November , or why did he keep on about it ???? !!!

Hearn will look after brook, he's worth the money. If he fights khan he'll get it back with interest and then some.

Maybe he's attempting to defend the use of PPV?

There's a Q&A in boxing news and Hearn is adamant that PPV is necessary in British boxing - he says that there's no way he could bring world title boxing on s normal Saturday night. How was it managed before, then? If he is paying so much that every world title bout has to be PPV then he needs to publish the figures as it seems to me he is paying TOO much. Hearn says in the Q&A that he could not make Selby v Gradovich if it wasn't for PPV revenue - I honestly do not believe him.

Brook is a world champion who draws a pretty big crowd and should be paid the market rate - he is not a prestige PPV boxer, yet - he has not faced the opposition and beaten them in exciting style to become such a big name. If Eddie chooses to pay Brook over the odds then that is his choice but foisting every world title belt fight as PPV is not the way to support such purse inflation. Maybe Matchroom should take a smaller percentage as profit if Hearn feels so strongly about Brook's purses?

I don't begrudge Kell Brook anything, I think he's a very good fighter and seems a very decent man but something has gone wrong somewhere if his purse has to be propped up by PPV money when he's not on the PPV bill.

I agree if the fight (against far from the best opposition & one who probably isn't getting much) can't be made with the Sky money, gate receipts & overseas tv rights can't pay Kell Brooks purse then his business model is severely fucked.

Hearn is talking a load of shite as usual, not sure why people are choosing to believe him this time. He's obviously going to say PPV is necessary to pay people like Brook, as it's just another way of justifying it. If Matchroom couldn't genuinely make Brook vs Chaves without relying on a PPV, they'd quit boxing tomorrow.
