WW3 Manchester October 10th RBR

Post by expe »

Dale Coyne beat Luke Allon 40-36 before they went on air.

Ryan Burnett beat an overmatched Hungarian in 2 rounds to win the WBO European title.

Jack Flatley beat Lewis Van Poetsch 40-36 on debut in a good, competitive fight.

Vijender Singh stopped Sonny Whiting in the third, hurt him with a right hand, quickly followed by a left hook and another right and the referee rightly stepped in. Singh was much better than I expected.

Tom Stalker and Craig Evans are 6 rounds in, first three rounds were brilliant, quietened down slightly in the last three and Stalker is beginning to take over, I have him 2 rounds up.

I only caught the last round, but Stalker looked to have gained some power. Best performance of his career by a long stretch.

I like Burnett a lot, agree about the opponent Kanalas being overmatched but Ryan does what good fighters do against inferior opposition,he fights like he's in a hurry but it never seems rushed.a bit like Hatton and Quigg,i see him destroying Booth in their British title fight

Flatley-Van Poetsch was a good little fight, understandably Jack looked a bit over eager in his debut and tired visably after all he put in the 1st couple rounds but good action

Great finish from Singh after again understandably quite a slow start but he got better as the fight progressed,Whiting looked uncomfortable every time Vijender landed and the finish was class

Stalker-Evans was 10 times better than i thought it would be,i expected it to be quite cagey, messy without many power punches landing credit to both guys, especially Thomas who probably boxed as well as ive seen him so maybe the move down to LW will benefit him, kudos to Craig Evans though he shipped some heavy shots

I never scored it but im surprised at a draw,i thought Stalker pulled away at the end

Gonzalez puts Kays down with a right in the opener,Jon not hurt and it seemed to catch him back of the head as he came lunging in

Gonzalez looks so awkward and yet the more skillful. Yet it's like in round 3 he looks like if he can't win it easily he doesn't want to work for it.

That uppercut is as good a punch as you're likely to see anywhere this year. First time I've seen Gonzalez. Would like to see him again.

Yeah I heard Kay's cornerman say 'you can break his heart' or something similar and I was thinking the same thing. Gonzalez didn't panic under pressure though and stayed composed.

If Markham vs Blackledge is as good as Stalker v Evans it'll be brill. That first round was the best I've seen in a long time.

I wonder how comfortable bjs was being interviewed about boxing by a woman.

Suprised he didn't tell her to sod off home and was the dishes.
