Smith is patient and boxes from a solid base, I like to watch him box - he is by the numbers but is strong and correct.

WOW what a fight and massive ballz to keep going from Thomspon but Smith is a effing bull,i loved that,to and fro,the shift in the tide, boxer vs brawler, great fight and massive bombs thrrew

Smith started slow and Thompson was boxing his ears off at times as well as outfighting Liam but you always felt Smith was gonna catch up with him,a bit like Louis-Conn 1,more than once i thought Thompson was about to go down but he didint and came firing back but you just knew Liam wasnt gonna let him hear the final bell and that right hand was brutal

Liam is gonna struggle at world level against boxer types but his relentless pursuit will help pull some wins out the bag

Well done Liam  :salut:

Yes Andrade was stripped because he didn't fight for so long as loads of fights fell through inc Liam Smith .

Andrade fights again next week and wants it back.

More of a Gallagher/MGM decision according to Gallagher himself, Smith went along with them as the money wasn't great, they didn't feel he was ready to make that big a step up and fight Andrade.

Was Gallagher he said himself in an IFl interview that Liam wasn't ready due to the opposition he had been in with was about 6 months ago I reckon.

Will the WBO put him forward as mandatory? More likely that a beatable Top Rank fighter gets it or someone else Smith won't be troubled too much by. Only way I see Andrade being mandatory is if Smith defects to Hearn.

Yeh he should have to work is way back to become mandatory, it could be a year before the fight gets made so plenty of time for Beefy to get some defences in

Flanagan won that incredible Lightweight tournament with Anthony Crolla, Gary Sykes and Derry Mathews in it. God I would have loved to have seen that!
