That was brilliant from Flanaghan. He must shoot right up Horse's British P4P list.

Think he mentioned it as his inspiration in the post fight interview!Ian1973 wrote:That was brilliant from Flanaghan. He must shoot right up Horse's British P4P list.

Very impressive performance, just everything about him is impressive at present, he seems to have come on leaps and bounds over the last year and it would be really interesting to see him stepped even higher up the opposition ladder, whilst accepting he is now due perhaps a couple of less high profile defences in terms of world ranked fighters, perhaps one of the home guys.
After that I hope they let him try his luck against other champions/elite, why not, looked an absolutely different class last night, well done Terry.

what a fantastic night of boxing (apart from catteral). flanagan was a revelation, how the hell did he throw that uppercut...was one of the most impressive punches ive ever seen.
feed him derry then get the crolla fight made, on that showing terry wins both of them comfortably.
but please someone give the lad a few pointers on handling the media. he clearly isnt comfortable and needs some guidance if he is going to get the audience - and cash - his talents deserve.
some other thoughts on the night...that presenter woman was annoying saying how long the show was all the time....it was enjoyable so why keep complaining. tommy langford came across well and billy-joe is a good pundit too. andy lee comes across as a really wise man, always interesting what he has to say on anything.
lillis knows the beat like the back of his hand and it showed..although he looked like he was going to burst into tears when craig evans said he thought stalker won their fight. buncey was on good form with the interviews.
overall a superb evening of boxing and the december 19 show could be even better. if you havent got b0xnati0n at the moment then you're really missing out.

Oh yeah, and Charlie Webster might be fit, but she was crap last night. She clearly has a producer in her earpiece feeding her lines & questions but she seemed to keep getting confused about what she was saying.

He ought to, he was number 29! He has to be top 10 and I think he'll be top 5 after a couple more wins.Ian1973 wrote:That was brilliant from Flanaghan. He must shoot right up Horse's British P4P list.

Personally I'd have him at 5 now behind only Frampton, Brook, Khan and McDonnell and just ahead of DeGale and Quigg. I will be interested in Horse's view on this and indeed yours Palooka.
Re: WW3 Manchester October 10th RBR
I have only just realized that Smith's win was actually for the full title!
Re: WW3 Manchester October 10th RBR
I know Horse puts a lot of thought into his list and he can be a bit perverse sometimes. I thought Terry was far too low last list and his performance last night underlined that.
What do you think, Ian?

With the names you just mentioned its hard not to get carried away with the amount of world class boxers we have. DeGale could be the no.1 SMW (Ward looks like he's moving up) Brook could be the No.1 WW soon after a big win after the Chavez fight, Terry could be the No.1 LW by the end of next year, AJ could be the next HW no.1 when wlad reties, Quigg, Frampton, McDonnell, Selby and Fury all proven world class then there's the likes of L. Smith, C. Smith, Murray, Billy Joe Saunders, Crolla, Haskins, Luke Campbell, Liam Walsh all on the fringes of world class its unbelievable and with the many prospects coming through its crazy.palooka wrote:thank you Ian, I'm not really one for nit picking; they are all accomplished and talented boxers. I'd have Khan at number 1, he has faced the better competition win or lose and is a big deal in the US, he's fought in Vegas etc, Brook maybe number 2 though he really has one world class win and that was very close, DeGale is exceptional - Olympic gold medal and world champion; Frampton and Quigg are very good though I'd put Quigg in front of Carl who looks to be struggling with weight or other issues. Terry has to be next, he is a smart boxing southpaw happy to jab and move, happy countering and can slot sharp and heavy punches through the gaps, he seems to have a very good temperament as well. Jamie McDonnell has to be right in there too - he is having a brilliant run and is doing it away from home.

Brook wouldn't be anywhere near number 1 at welter after beating Chaves.digzee wrote:With the names you just mentioned its hard not to get carried away with the amount of world class boxers we have. We haven't had 'The Man' at a weight class since Calzaghe retired but now have a few who could do it. McDonnell, Frampton, Quigg, Selby, Flanagan,Brook, Degale and Fury in his next fight.
Just hope he fighters get the exposure they deserve.

Cost me £500, but I'd just won that betting a mate that the All Blacks would get further than England in the RWC. I know nowt about rugby, but I was born in NZ, so I had to take the bet.palooka wrote:No one gets it right all the time, hope you didn't lose too much dough. Who you got next week? It's not so bad if you've got a pot for betting with, all mine comes out of the pocket so I'm gutted if I lose a tenner, I'm not cut out for it.

Read my message again I said "Brook could be the No.1 WW soon AFTER a big win AFTER the Chavez fight", so I meant he could be the No.1 if he beats someone like Pac or Bradley after he (hopefully) beats Chavez. Even after he Beats Chavez he's top 5 minimum...Naandrew wrote:Brook wouldn't be anywhere near number 1 at welter after beating Chaves.digzee wrote:With the names you just mentioned its hard not to get carried away with the amount of world class boxers we have. Agreed, when you've got the likes of Rosenthal and Steedman as possible presenters, I really don't know why they've started using Charlie Webster. She clearly loves boxing but she is just not a good presenter.Boxerbeetle wrote:
