Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
After he beats Lemiuex, GGG will fight Canelo. By then I am assuming he will wait for Ward to officially move to 175 (which is likely), at which point GGG will move up to 168 full-time, knowing he can beat everyone else there.
This is my prediction.

Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
after lemieux, the winner of the WBC title is not required to fight
GGG until may. even if the lee-saunders matchup didn't come off
until dec, i could still see GGG-Lee fighting in late feb or early
march for the WBO, giving GGG at least 2 months to prepare for canelo.
if cotto wins next month he will vacate and move down to 154
rather than fight GGG. either way i could see the may fight against
the WBC winner being for all 4 major titles. not even sure if quillin
is capable of making 160 anymore, but by then GGG would by a ppv
star and more than worth what it would take to attract quillin.
after that, andade, lara, and all 154 guys and all 168 guys will
be waiting in line to fight GGG at middle because of the $$$.
ward? ward who? is ward even still in the 168 division? if so,
ward is probably eyeing jack, degale, and abraham right now.
otherwise, he's looking at the top 175ers.

You dont think that the article is just a tad bit biased ?
Lol.
Ward only fighting the best...
Ggg only fought journeymen his entire carreer...
Ward need to get some serious promoters, and fight some decent opponents again, at their prime and own weightcalsses, or he'll end up being the same caliber of laughingstock that floyd mayweather was.
Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
Golovkin doesn't look tight at the weight to me. I think he can probably see out his career at 160. But I have zero evidence to back up this observation.
Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
If after Golovkin unifies MW, Ward will still be relevant and will be willing to fight at 168, the fight will happen.

Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
The privileged Andre Ward will want the fight in Oakland so he can have his personal referee Jack Reiss or some other shady referee to permit him to foul (head butt, hit off the break, hold and clamp GGG's arms while hitting).
The smugly arrogant Ward might travel to fight a journeyman on the Cotto-Alvarez undercard, but he will definitely not leave Oakland to fight a top talent like Golovkin. Despite being a much bigger man, Ward will lose to GGG unless he has a lot of help from a ref (Ward may even lose with a crooked referee against the smaller but much more talented GGG).
Ward is a selfish prima donna who demanded home advantage for all his fights in the Super Six and who has refused to do random PED testing (maybe because he wouldn't be strong enough to clamp his opponents' arms without PEDs?)

Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
When will folks realize that the next time lil' g faces an elite opponent at or above his weight it will be the first time?
And no, that won't stop being true even if he fights the winner of Canelo-Cotto.
Don't mind him avoiding a certain L until he has cashed in...but at least lil' g should be honest about it.

Canelo is his size. If they fight, it will be a win over an elite opponent.koolkc107 wrote:When will folks realize that the next time lil' g faces an elite opponent at or above his weight it will be the first time?

Regarding Ward:
- he doesn't really want to fight Golovkin. His unrealistic "offer" was just a publicity stunt. Liar !
- he is two divisions above Golovkin
- he makes unrealistic demands
- he is boring and unpopular
So, alternatives are:
- fight a PPV star with a huge purse with good chances of another PPV fight for the 4th belt
- start negotiation with an unpopular boring diva 10-12 pounds heavier than you who makes unrealistic demands
Make your pick.

Heads up retard. Ggg cleared out the whole top twenty of boxrecs mw charts. Are they all non elite fighters ? And actually many of these were in their primes. Does it hurt you that a non-black, non-american fighter is showing this sport how it is supposed to be handled ?
Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
KC, do yourself a favor next Saturday. Order a pizza, get a rack of brew and order the GGG/Lemieux fight with your feet up. I want to show you what a true PPV star his. You won't see a track meet in this one or hugging...or a carbon copy of every single boring fight Floyd's been in. Someone's getting knocked out and could very well be GGG with Lemieux's power. This is when you will say that " I am going to buy the fight but only because I want to see Roman fight". yeah, keep thinking that we're buying that.koolkc107 wrote:When will folks realize that the next time lil' g faces an elite opponent at or above his weight it will be the first time?

We know deep down, you love watching GGG fight and you know it. There's not way any true boxing fan could dislike watching him fight.
Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
"Wards return is slated for the Cotto vs Canelo undercard"
That tells you everything you need to know.
GGG had an agreement to fight an exciting unification bout with Lemieux, with the winner of that fighting the winner Cotto/Canelo, 2 of the biggest names in the game, in another unification fight or he can fight someone who will appear on their undercard, likely fighting another Paul Smith level opponent and hasn't faced a worthwhile opponent in 3 years
But of course Ward only fights the best and GGG feasts on journeymen.....
Get fucked!

Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
Also "Golovkin came under fire for his catchweight demands"
What? Are you shitting me?
Ward that drained Dawson to SMW then claimed the "scalp of the LHW king",
Ward that fought Paul Smith (Paul bloody Smith people) at a catchweight
Ward whose team asked Golovkin, a natural 160lb fighter, to meet him at Wards natural 168lbs and criticises HIM for wanting a comprimise in between.

No fvcking way Jermain Taylor should be let into the same ring as Triple G, unless you want to see him die, which I don't. If anyone ever convinces or allows Jermain to fight Triple G they should be charged with manslaughter.
Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
No chance this post is real. No chance whatsoever. Excellent trolling. Pretty cool how he threw Canelo in there at #6 tho between Taylor's corpse and Dominic Wade. Well played.cold187 wrote:GGG needs to clean up division

Agree with the trolling.
Jermaine should not be allowed. Is he even active. Thought he was jailed ?
Wade, based on his record, is not ready for top tear opposition. Same goes for centeno, all though he seems to have faced more qualified opponents than wade. Suljeicki ive seen on tv. Good prospect, but imo, he would be crushed.
Actually the only mw left to face is lee. So if winner of cotto/canelo does not want to fight golovkin, he has only one more fight at mw imo, taken he gets past lemiux.
I dont see lee posing any threat at all to golovkin, so after facing lee, which i doubt lee wants to, in half a year or so golovkin is either going to ruin the mw's coming prospects or move up or down.
Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
Ward needs GGG more than the other way around. GGG has Cotto vs. Canelo winner or if they run Lara is willing for a decent fight. Not much left at 160. Then again, Canelo says there are NO challenges at 160.
GGG said he would go up if money is there, but we all know Ward isn't a big money fight. Not yet anyway.

Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
Does Taylor's state have death penalty ? Is he allowed to select to die in the ring ?Baby Face Finster wrote:No fvcking way Jermain Taylor should be let into the same ring as Triple G, unless you want to see him die, which I don't. Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
GGG does not have the body to move up to 168. He would be fool to take on Ward while giving away a significant size advantage. There is no way he wins that. On top of that Ward is moving up to 175 himself. So no, GGG will never fight Ward.
Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
I wouldn't say never, but it's unlikely. Can't blame Golovkin for suiting middleweight well, this guy gets far too much flack for no real reason. I love Ward I think he'd beat GGG, Andre's style and quickness would be too much the extra weight would just make it easier.Tarkus wrote:GGG does not have the body to move up to 168. Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
GGG might be able to deal with Andres hanspeed because of his accuracy and volume and a great chin. But I believe Ward will go inside. He is a beast inside as it is. With the extra weight he will be absolutely deadly. Also GGGs power will obviously be less effective against much bigger man.SFW wrote: I wouldn't say never, but it's unlikely. Gonna be busy that night hosting a competition where the outcome is actually a mystery, unlike this PPV.
No way china-chinned Lemieux get out of the 4th round. I will watch it Sunday or whenever I can find a link.
Folks DO have one thing pegged right when it comes to my take on lil' g. I do like the guy as a fighter and I do think he is a good guy and potential role model.
But, until he steps up and decides to be great, I will continue to call him exactly what he is...an underachiever who is avoiding his biggest challenges.
Re: Will GGG Ever Fight Ward?
This is the reason I don't like "super" divisions like super middleweight.
If there was no super middleweight division it would increase the likelihood that we'd get a good fight like GGG vs Ward.
