Who cares who sells the most tickets?

apart from Frampton, Quigg, Hearn, McGuigan, you mean?

or was it a rhetorical question?[/quote]

No - they've said in reality it has to happen in Manchester if it happens before May 2016, as there isn't another venue big enough available before then.
sure I saw an interview where Hearn mentioned Brum...?

Now that would be right up my street!

Birmingham is a far better location for it and this has nothing to do with my ease of access!

Birmingham would be fantastic, but personally I do think it should be in Belfast - the atmosphere would be immense.

I'd love it to be Birmingham (as I can literally hop on a tram) but agree Belfast would be something special.

Birmingham probably holds a good 10,000 less than the O2 and Manchester arenas though. But does ticket sales really make a massive % of the revenue with fights like this (pay per view etc), especially when the cheaper seats would be a lot more limited and the price rises steeper.

Definitely should be Belfast as the atmosphere generated there helps to sell the sport as a whole.

I'm 4 stops in the slow train to the NEC so very biased towards brum!

Eddie is a numbers man and there is no way he'd put this on in a 10,000 seat arena when he can sell 21,000.

The atmosphere in Belfast would be great but business wise it makes zero sense.

The biggest arena I believe is the odyssey which holds only about 12 thousand when Manchester holds 22 thousand so goodness knows how much of a loss of income that is already.

Sky/Hearn are paying all the money, the cost of everything just goes up if the fight is in Ireland. Production costs, sky staff, travel expenses etc. It will be a box office event so an adequate undercard would be needed which would mean Hearn shipping over some of his kids etc it just makes no sense.

For the Kiko fight team frampton had that sponsor who disappeared/where being investigated and they also had government assistance to build the temporary stadium at the titanic quarter - I think both of those options are not available. I think even Mcguigan accepts Belfast is not an option as he doesn't mention it anymore unless I'm mistaken.

Having the fight in Manchester allows Hearn to generate the most income which would mean more money to be able to pay the fighters which we all want to see. The only other viable arena is the 02 which isn't available until may.
Mcguigan with all the work he has done over the years to champion policies being put in place to try to improve the welfare of fighters should be all for that I would have thought

although his priority has to be Carls affairs which is obvious he needs to be reasonable and allow the fight to happen.

If both camps decide to wait it out until summer there will just be fresh obstacles created again but let's hope ego's are put to one side

So why did Hearn mention Birmingham (which is a similar capacity) in one of his interviews? But now all of a sudden it only makes sense in Manchester?

Come one mate you don't really need me to answer that do you??

I haven't seen the interview but we know
for obvious reasons he wants it in Manchester. Hearn was probably going through the list of 'neutral' arenas available - of course Birmingham might be an option but why would any promoter host an event In a place where thousands of pounds in revenue is lost

He might if its that or lose the whole revenue altogether?

I agree Manchester makes more financial sense (whether ticket sales is a very big % of the revenue for a pay per view fight I very much doubt) but my point was why did Hearn mention other options but now all of a sudden it has to be in Manchester?

Would it even fill the Manchester Arena anyway, hasn't it been half shut/half empty everytime Quigg has fought there and thats with Crolla adding to sales!

Yeah it would sell out 100% - it's a real big fight and the box office promotion will push it over the top. Yeah your right the real corn comes from PPV but Their is no business logic behind cutting out revenue when it's no necessary. Barry & Eddie are accountants - this small issue is likely to cripple the event especially if match room/Quigg have already made all these confessions already as reported. Let's just hope it gets done - it's pisssing me off that I'm sounding pro Hearn and I just want to see the frigging fight

Frampton vs Quigg is a domestic Superfight, it would sell out anywhere in the UK. Why should Frampton, being the reigning Champion go to Quigg's backyard?

In my opinion Carl is doing enough conceding that the fight happens in England... That should be enough for Eddie Hearn & Quigg - not to mention that Ireland has it's fair share of big stadiums to hold the fight as well, but for some reason - none of that is being considered and nor is Team Frampton pushing it.

I used to like McGuigan, loved his passion, my dad was a big fan and I've mentioned on here several times i was even named after him, he could be a bit overbearing and a bit overenthusiastic but I thought he meant well but after the whole Frampto saga I've went right off him, obviously nobody knows the truth yet but the way Frampton's mates in the game, Barnes, Murray, Coyle etc have publicly slated the Mcguigans makes me think it must be pretty concrete evidence or else they'd keep quiet until at least the case was over

Funnily enough I'm reading McGuigans autobiography just now, got it from the library a few weeks ago because I was using too much data on my phone at breaks so needed something to read as I've stopped buying the sh1tty rags

Interesting read and talks like he's a man of honour and integrity but cant help but think it's all an act, if it is true how can he do that to someone he claimed to see as a son?

Absolutely....but at 1 of the Press Conf they were making Quigg out to be thick.

He turned to Frampton and said you might be the “A side” and getting more money but I bet I end up with more than you do........maybe he wasn’t so thick after all and Frampton really was the thick one.

He was the meal ticket - an idiot and everyone bar Frampton could see it - you had about 24 McGuigans on the payroll - everyone and their Granny was employed - 6 of them directors.

Now he reckons he was 4.1m short.....yeah 5 year to late and Cyclone is already dissolved before the court case.

Yeah I don’t reckon Quigg is thick at all, it’s just his speech which gives some people that impression. When you focus on the content, he’s perfectly sensible.

Cameron/Bakole/Cummings have all bailed - Josh Taylor must surely be next especially if he wins WBSS.

The fact he’s already liquidated the company says they are covering themselves for losing.

I think Frampton is only fighting on now for money as he should have had enough by now but hasn’t because of bad management. I’m convinced he’s only carrying on now for money as he’s not the same level of fighter he was.

The 2nd LSC Fight - he got $1m US - by time exchange rate / corner / McGuigan and Taxes he’d have got less than £400k for that fight.

Frampton, like a lot of people, probably believes he's more intelligent and savvy than he is. The McGuigans are perhaps even more deluded. Hence this mess.

There's a lot to be said for knowing your limitations e.g. Quigg. Tends to give more clarity and wariness.
