I flipping love Montiel but think this is too late in the day for him at too high a weight. Like Selby as well and hoping for a very decent fight.

I can see Selby stopping him.

He's improving every fight and his preparation looks good.

He's been training in USA for the last few weeks already.

Selby has the look and sound of a Champion nowadays, i don't think he'll lose this one. Montiel is a good boxer, but a bit late in the day and will get outboxed over the championship rounds, i'm going for 11 round stoppage.

I havent seen Montiel for years, maybe even since getting KO'd early doors from Donaire,im surprised he's still fighting, surely he must be finished,Terrazas beat him years ago, although Montiel's been on a winning run of about 8 since then, including a win over equally finshed Cristobal Cruz

This is just a coming out party for Selby to introduce himself to the US audience, beating a 3 weight titlist with a name will help people remember him at least, this will be another masterclass from Lee and he'll be far too big and fresh for Fernando to handle

I can see Montiel getting busted up similar to Edgar Sosa did from Roman Gonzalez and Selby finishing things in 4 rounds

Devon Alexander vs Aron Martinez topping the bill on this show

Alexander having his first fight since getting his ears boxed off from Khan and Martinez coming off a SD loss against Guerrero where he had Robert on the floor,i never seen that fight so dont know if Aron was unlucky?? before that he got KO'd from Josesito Lopez

Alexander doesnt seem the fighter he was a few years ago but he's still levels above Martinez and shouldnt drop a round.he might even spring a Urango-esque upset KO win but the safe moneys on a wide UD

I was looking at the Sky planner earlier today, didn't realise this was a Wednesday night/Thursday morning show. Guess I'll be getting up early to watch before work, can't see me staying up that late on a weekday

Montiel over the hill and tiny compared to Selby. Easy first defence.

I put £1 on Montirl at 12-1. Rubbish bet, but fighting abroad and the fact that Mexicans always try .

The little Mexicsn looked like a tank in there, Selby is a decent hitter, but his best just bounced off Fernandito like a pea shooter, and he hurt Lee a few times with that left hook. But Selby showed real grit and mental strength to grind out a win over a three weight champ who looked really dangerous and up for the win.

Good win, onwards and upwards ...but he needs to work on that defence

Not Selby's best performance by but Montiel despite looking at least two weight classes below Selby was awkward and tough.

I watched this morning pm Sky + when I got up but these PBC boxing nights seem to start pretty quickly and not as much talking / fannying about until fights start. Selby fight came on about 5 /10 mins after programme started.

The smaller scale ones (such as this was over in the states ie Wednesday night etc) definitely do. Sure they're only set for 2 hours tv time so bit like the old Friday Fight Nights pretty much straight in and two 10/12 round fights.

Selby was the televised undercard fight.
