Khanvs Alexander....after last night
Did last night take some shine off Khan's standing as a Welterweight? Or is it still, looking back,a good win for Khan?

Wow, quite a shocker. To be honest, i don't think it really affects the Khan win. I think most were of the opinion that while he was Khan's first live test as a welter, he wasn't as effective as he once was. Nobody thought he was shot by any means but just not as he was.

I wasn't impressed when khan beat him,if it was just after Alexander had beat Witter then it would have been a very good win but not now,as last night showed,Devon Alexander isn't a force anymore and hasn't been for a couple of years.

In the last 3 years Alexander has lost 3 and won 2 (became the ninth to beat Jesus Soto Karass and beat a weight-drained Lee Purdy).
Aaron Martinez is no.12 in USA and he has matched Khan's best win in 4 years.

Devon was awful clearly has superior boxing skill but shown nothing.
Tell you what I wouldn't mind seeing Martinez in with Brandon Rios that would be fun.

Re Khan he has been all talk now IE wants Floyd then going to fight Manny now talking Brook or Garcia rematch.
He needs to move on and get something sorted. Garcia rematch is ideal right now.

First of all i'll start by saying that ref was effing clueless, thankfully the infringments dropped as the fight wore on and it became less relevant
I had Martinez winning 97-93,he wanted it more and just roughed Alexander up from 1 to 10 keeping his head on his chest,Devon seemed to be wanting to make a point of standing his ground and not complaining but forgot to get to work,he showed flashes of his class but he allowed Aron to bully him throughout with some of the crudest boxing ive ever seen but to be fair to Martinez it wasnt just his pressure that was winning the later rounds, his better shots were too and he hurt Alexander a few times,he deserved it as Alexander looked lost at sea for the whole fight

Would like to see the Garcia rematch. I always got the feeling Khan was looking for a big bumper payday to retire on. Not sure how the Garcia fight would do money wise but if Danny chins him again then any faint hope of Pacquiao goes out the window along with Brook probably.Naandrew wrote:Re Khan he has been all talk now IE wants Floyd then going to fight Manny now talking Brook or Garcia rematch.

Garcia Khan would be a really good match up.
Garcia would go in favourite but if Khan can box for 12 rounds like he did against Alexander it could be interesting.
I would still put money on Garcia again mind.

The problem is though that he's never been able to do it against a top fighter who's there to fight.MrJasonM wrote:Garcia Khan would be a really good match up.
