Johnson O'Kane (spoiler)
Johnson O'Kane (spoiler)
Never seen two fighters smother each other's work as much.
Probably the worst "toe to toe" fight ive seen, looked like they had 14oz gloves on!!
Am I being harsh?

Re: Johnson O'Kane (spoiler)
I enjoyed it overall but felt very much like the bout was a case of "lots of action, little drama". Barring the first round was anyone really that hurt?
Re: Johnson O'Kane (spoiler)
Not sure but I wasn't overly impressed with Johnson. He shouldn't go anywhere near the winner of tonight's main event.
Re: Johnson O'Kane (spoiler)
Paddy Fitzpatrick must have a terrible win lose ratio..
Re: Johnson O'Kane (spoiler)
I think that quote hits nail on the head. I got bored around 6th as pattern of fight seemed set and neither gave themselves enough space or leverage to land genuine heavy shots.Boxing Prospect wrote:I enjoyed it overall but felt very much like the bout was a case of "lots of action, little drama". Onwards and upwards.

Probably only mildly better than his pro boxing record:stevedoc wrote:Paddy Fitzpatrick must have a terrible win lose ratio..

Although according to his own website: "Paddy Fitzpatrick’s boxing resume reads like a who’s who of the pugilist world. Involved in boxing now for over 25 years, Irishman Fitzpatrick has worked alongside some of the leading fi ghters and trainers the sport has to offer."
And apparently Paddy "He currently has Five Proffessionals (sic) that he coaches: World title contender St George Groves. The 'King' Eamon O'kane. His very own Luke 'the Duke' Watkins, Garvey 'old Skool' Kelly and many more up and coming Boxing Greats."
I'd really like to know a little more about these future 'Boxing Greats".... Sounds like he has a secret Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran and Marvin Hagler ready to make history.

O'Kane showed great heart to get through that fight.
Johnson needs to avoid GGG. Good fight for Lemiuex comeback

Re: Johnson O'Kane (spoiler)
given the loss and the supposed meagre purse ($7,500).
I think O'Kane would be better matching himself up back over here in the UK & Ireland, plenty of fights available to him.
Lee and O'Sullivan back in Ireland.
Eubank jnr, Saunders, Blackwell, Ryder in England.

Re: Johnson O'Kane (spoiler)
The guy is a joke, I saw a recent IFL interview where he told Groves just before he fought Rebrasse that if he lost he wouldn't be working with him anymore, considering George had just lost 2 fights against Froch his mind couldn't have been in a good place so he didn't need to be thinking about losing, also obsessing about George deleting his Twitter was just strange.reggaereggae wrote:Probably only mildly better than his pro boxing record:stevedoc wrote:Paddy Fitzpatrick must have a terrible win lose ratio..

O'Kane's tactics were atrocious for the duration of the fight too. It's a shame it took Groves so long to realise the bloke is a liability, but better late than never...stevedoc wrote:Paddy Fitzpatrick must have a terrible win lose ratio..

O Kane had to have 15 litres of something pumped into him after fight according to Paddy.GooalaShooola wrote:O'Kane's tactics were atrocious for the duration of the fight too. The temple punches O Kane was taking are career ending. It was a brutal fight. Few more fights like that and he needs to seriously think about his health. 33 Years old. Topo guys both of them but O Kane needs to stop having tear ups!
