good to see green testing himself yet again.
Oh really.
who do you expect him to fight given the circumstances? he could fight klitscho and you would bag him.
this is a sensible comeback if he is planning on going somewhere. if he was just looking for a quick payday Im quite sure he lure a light heavy or cruiser weight champion here no problems. even on a world scale green is VERY popular with punters. just look at his social media status.

Green 500000 plus likes
mundine not quite 70000
ggg 141000
bhop 137000
tyson fury 32000

the list goes on, maybe your blind hate of the bloke is making you just talk nonsense as usual.
For some reason doesn't do nearly as well attracting Twitter followers though:

Fury 263k
Hopkins 140k
GGG 129k
Green 41.8k
Mundine 41.8k
Thats interesting. I think fury wins because of his double profession . Comedian and boxer.

GOOSE"]Facebook likes. Look he's an appealing character and was lucky enough to be around the same time as Australias most hated sportsman. But for true boxing fans these fights are jokes. Surely you see that?
I consider myself as much a boxing fan as most on here. Im driving an hour and a half to watch the fight tomorrow so i must be keen.

True boxing fans will likely see this fight for what it is. Its a strategic fight to ease himself back into contention. surely you can see that?

also as a marketing director I can assure you that any business (and boxing is business) that has that much social media following is worth big biscuits and big biscuits is what it takes to lure high level, high return opposition (jones jr, tarver, wlodarcyzk). Greens fan base on an international level is quite up there as previously demonstrated. please don't confuse this with me saying he is as good as some of the fighters i listed above as that is not my point.
Green has used boxing as a vehicle to wealth and fame, and that it causes a small number of envious people so much angst is really quite hilarious
Good lord stock standard response from Green lovers. My favourite fighter was Oscar De La Hoya he could buy and sell Greeny's family ten times over. It's accomplishments that matter and Green has used Mundine as a vehicle to fame and fortune let's be real.
Fair call green doesn't hold a candle to what oscar achieved. But if we are talking achievements here green has done too badly and what he has done hasn't had a thing to do with Mundine. At the time green fought beyer and lucas it would have been very easy to consider him in the top four at super middle. At light heavy at the time he beat drews it would have been easy to consider him top four no? And at cruiser he was ranked top four pretty consistently. So thats being ranked or considered in the top four people in the world in those three divisions. Thats a pretty good career man. Its no oscar but as far as aussirs go that's not bad dont you agree?

OK fair enough if you think this is fight is good fair enough. Im juust saying the opponent is ordinary, fighting 7kg above his weight division and people are asked to fork out $50 or go to the pub club to watch this and the Maloney twins fight some Phillipino/Thai/Indo opponents with dreadful records leading up to a sub par Main event. No thanks.
i found the Maloney twins entertaining to watch. But i agree it isnt worth $50. Not when u can buy the ggg fight for 29.95. So i wont be paying to watch it but inwill go to the pub because average oppenent or not its pretty clear that this could well be a stepping stone to the biggest fight on our soil ever. And regardless of how average that fight will probably be there wont be a single person on the aussie forum who wont be at least a bit interested in the result.

degoose,

Green has used Mundine as a vehicle to fame and fortune let's be real?

r u 2yo?

who the f cares.

u call yourself a real boxing fan, but all u do is carry on about inane stupid things like a bitter tart.

for someone who posts on boxing forums for years I don't think u actually have any real knowledge about boxing or u would be discussing it instead of childish jibberish.

its hilarious and sad at the same time, lol.

He does seem very popular, and as an outsider I consider him the star of Australian boxing.

Green lovers? You mean people who don't hate him incessantly like you do

Green has wealth, fame, popularity and has carved out an impressive pro boxing career. It is just plain sad it causes you so much angst and frustration.

He is a household name. Be hard pushed to find someone in Australia who hasn't heard of him

For all the Aussie guys who pull on a pair of boxing gloves do you know what percentage manage to fight at the Olympics? The answer is not many.

Do you know what percentage of those who then turn professional. Fight not only interstate, but overseas as well. Fight pro for 14 plus years. Win multiple titles, including world belts and a world title, and make a very, very lucrative salary in the process? The answer is very, very few.

Whether you like it or not very few Australian boxers have achieved what Danny Green has.

If you don't think Green has an impressive pro career. You either just plain don't know what you are talking about or you are trolling

He is trying to come down in weight gradually after a 3 year lay off. And fight people from the division he is trying to get to. How would you do it? And lets not be so nieve here . Someone who spends as much time wi th their head up danny greens a@# as much as a few of you people who hate him so much know full well that green is fighting at his walk around weight. He isn't 90kgs shrinking down to 86 to fight someone who walks around at 79. If you are a light heavy the chances are you walk around the mid 80 kilos and drop water weight on the day of the weigh in. So your argument about what weights he is fighting light heavies at carries no weight!
   Oh dear. If Danny Greeny walked around at 185 lbs he could easily be fighting these jokers at 175. He is too big for 175 these days that is why he has these catchweight fights. He can't make 175 but wants to continually fight light heavy's. He should be fighting a top 30 world cruiserweight at cruiser and stop the BS. If he did that I would be happy but he won't will he.

you would be happy? unlikely! he could fight a top 4 cruiser for a belt say like the WBC one and you would still be a drama queen about it. oh wait thats right he has already done that and you still moaned. he is coming down in weight and doing it sensibly

Ha ha yeah and what happened to him ? He was brutally KTFO by a guy who had tried to committ suicide several months earlier and who smost probably wasn't in the right mental state to fight. Danny Greenys been fighting at cruiser for about 5 or 6 yrs now but you say he is slowly making his way down to 175. I remember Danny Greeny saying the same line in the lead up to his fight with Danny Santiago who was, according to Danny Greeny, a "big name in the States".   Danny Greeny will never fight again at 175 unless it is for $$$$$ with Mundine and he will never fight another legit top cruiser at cruiserweight (not some BS catchweight).
