Pacquiao lost 3 of his last 6, doing well to make #9

Always surprised Wlad doesn't get in many. Having not lost in 11 years and about 25 title fights.

Nice list tho :TU:

Sorry, but it's either madness or extreme prejudice not to have Vlad in there.

You're obviously not familiar with chepppa. He's either a total clown or Rigo's agent, hence multiple threads about Rigondeux being the currwnt best p4p, and 2nd on the GOAT list ahead of Ray Robinson.... but trailing to Roy Jones

Gonzalez scored his 44th consecutive victory yesterday, there's nothing "NEW" about him, you clearly just haven't been paying attention

...I don't keep any lists, but going through yours and not finding Wlad seems to be a significant omission...come to think of the reigning and defending champ dominating what is supposed to be the most prestigious division for years...

True. I basically ignore any list that does not have Wlad in the top ten. My IMO Wlad is top 1,2,or 3. I think it's between the top three listed below who is number one. Then Ward and Kovalev to round out the top five.

Wlad
GGG
Gonzalez

Ward
Kovalev

Kovalev is just as dominant as GGG against better opponents.
How can Kovalev be ranked lower?

I don't know who's number one right now, but my top 5 are:
Ward
Rigo
Wlad
Kovalev
GGG

Everyone is on the Gozalez bandwagon now. It's mostly because of POWER and MARKETABILITY. HBO dupes you guys again.
Gonzalez been feasting on too many bums for me to rank him higher than any of the guys I listed above.
He can be p4p #1 based on ability, but he needs Ioka, Ruenroeng, and a top guy at 115 on his resume first.

Many knowledgable fans were on the bandwagon before he was with HBO; not everyone bases their opinion on what networks tell them and Gonzalez's recent spike in popularity and ranking should be taken as people finally catching on to his great ability and impressive accomplishments.

I get your point about Kovalev-GGG though...there seems to be consensus that GGG should be ranked higher but I think Kovalev's resume is superior and believe that he has a very strong case for being above GGG. I think he's looked a bit more vulnerable than GGG and perhaps that's why he generally isn't ranked as highly.

There's an interesting scenario among Ward, GGG and Kovalev.
Any combination of fight with Ward will produce the unquestioned #1 p4p fighter.
However, naysayers will take credit from Kovalev for beating Ward
and definitely take away credit from Ward for beating GGG.
Something about weight classes ...

On the flip side, if either GGG or Ward move up and win,
they are the new king of the sport. Undisputed! Worshiped as gods by many.
Especially if it's GGG.

I don't think this is fair. I think any victory in this trio is impressive
and produces the king of the sport.

If Ward beats GGG and Kovalev, we will know him as the best 168 pound fighter ever.
If he can beat Stevenson and the winner of Beterbiev VS Oosthuizen/Braehmer,
he is moving way up the ATG list ...

... and this won't be another Floyd situation,
whether you like him or not,
you will admit these things.

Hope he goes for it.

But he won't.
So your wasting your time wishing for it.
I'll be impressed if he fights either of GGG or kovalev let alone both plus Stevenson and Beterbiev.

As it happens, I think a prime Ward (if he is still that) is in with a reasonable shout of winning any if not all of those fights.
I just don't think for a second he wants them.

He doesn't even get into the afterthought list with Inoue and Brook for fornicate sake.

I agree, Wlad should be in top ten but not top 5.
He constantly fights boxers much smaller than him. I'ts p4p not pound p2p.
I'd put him in 8 or 9.
