The Channel of Champions, naturally.
£12 a month which will include the Canelo-Cotto fight compared to the £35 you will have to pay for Klit-Fury, AJ-Whyte and Brook-Chavez plus your SKY subscription.

Last night was proper boxing porn and if I could bash one out I would have done.

Yes great observation. At some point you would've thought David would've let it all hang out and go for broke, especially as Lemieux had no success with his boxing.

He never did look like he was really trying to win, you're right....

I don't think we will ever see GGG in a truly great/ mega fight. Hope I'm wrong though.

Fantastic performance from GGG but Lemieux was terribly poor, imo.

Brian Viloria, OTOH, deserves a fuckin' medal. What a fuckin' boy he is. & what a war he & Gonzalez engaged in, really totally high-class stuff. The Filipino/Hawaiian/whatever he is threw bombs all night, didn't stop trying no matter what, had a game plan that he stuck too, tried to do different stuff when it wasn't working, & got the ever-living shite kicked out of him by a dude who fights like JCC Superstar inside but throws combos like a young Juan Manuel Marquez.

GGG= :bow:

Brian Viloria=

Román Gonzalez=     :bag:
Spot on about Lemieux. He started timidly moving back almost immediately and I sensed then that he was done for......it may have allowed him to last longer but greatly reduced his chances of success, and while GGG's jab played a role in keeping Lemieux at range I think that David had the tools to do better.

As for Gonzalez, I'm not sure if I've seen a better combination puncher among the fighters who were active at some point since I started following boxing nearly 15 years ago. His ability to throw 5-6 punches at time with perfect technique and fluidity is incredible.

Golovkin shot selection is a sight to behold though, along with the timing and accuracy he was utterly dominant every second of that fight

Gonzalez-Viloria was a great fight too,Roman took a couple rounds to get going, just eying Brian up but once he let his hands go it was pure poetry, variety sublime, foot movement was beautiful,he has every punch in the book,Viloria played his part too and actually boxed quite well but he was outclassed and had no answer for Gonzalez's punches,he showed massive heart though and wouldnt have blamed him for quitting such was the accuracy and power of Gonzalez

Also, when was the last time the best boxer in the world had the logo of the Sandinistas on the back of his shorts & the logo of the Zapatistas on the front?
I was going to say Skinny the explosive, but I think he was against the Sandinistas in his pomp…?

Yes, he had some property seized and was an ardent Somoza supporter.

Lemieux did acquiesce without a struggle, he was on the back foot by choice and was not forced; with punch power like he has he may as well have had a go at landing and fighting his fight. A powerful and aggressive fighter didn't ought to be back pedalling and jabbing from the off.

Agreed about Gonzalez, some great combination punchers land 3 shots and thats great but Roman's landing in 5 and 6's,he also has that great calmness that all elite fighters have, doesnt mind having a scouting mission first 1 or 2 rounds and losing them knowing fine well he'll turn it up as soon as he pleases

When you see the class and sportsmanship that Gonzales demonstrates it puts Kal Yafai's antics last night in sharp contrast.

'hes got every punch in the book' has become a cliche, stoney, but with Gonzalez I think he is unique in the modern age, for this reason:

Not only can he, and does he, throw and land with literally every punch in the book with either hand, and seems to do so in every fight, but more to the point I think he actually hurts his opponents with every punch in the book with either hand. Freakish. Glad I've been aboard the hypetrain for a couple of years at least.

What happened with Yafai?

I haven't seen much of Gonzalez - will have to check him out on YouTube.

Are there any particular fights to look out for?

Yafai was taunting Cunningham at the end of every round, he was far too good for him, not enough to stop him but there was absolutely no need for it, like he was trying to be Naz or something except without the power, reflexes and speed and he wasn't exactly setting the world on fire either, he laboured to a points win for the British title against an opponent he was expected to beat easily. Just being a pudendum towards his opponent, absolutely no respect for him.

He was taunting Cunnigham throughout the fight and acting like a cock.

Start with last nights vs Viloria was a truly great performance.

Star of the night for me was Gonzales, he looks big enough to rise through more weight divisions and theres some very tasty fights for him at super fly, might be getting ahead of myself but he has the look of a potential ATG.

How do we think golovkin would do against ward I'm torn I think with the extra size ward could take GGGs shots but who knows , I'd pick ward to take a points win

That's the thing...he's still a very solid flyweight even though he's moved up a few divisions and I think there's room for him to move up again without being generally undersized. In my view he probably has several more years and some more divisions in him.

What also impresses me about Gonzalez is how difficult opponents find it to hit him cleanly even though he's a come-forward fighter. People often talk of offensively-minded fighters taking a relatively high amount shots in order to give them, but that's not really the case with him and when he does get hit he shows a solid chin.

Ward on points in my opinion. Aside from being significantly bigger and a very good fighter, I think that he has the right style to nullify GGG's offense.

Same here ,but what a great fight it would be I can't remember the last time I wasn't sure who would win at this level

After viewing 2 wars with Kameda vs Kono and Clev vs Fonfara on Friday, we get served up 2 masterclasses by the best in the game.

I can't remember enjoying a boxing weekend as much
And I've still got Eggy on the planner to watch.

Roman Gonzalez, wow....just WOW. Surely we are watching one of the greats here, poetry in motion, his pinpoint combinations just flow like a drumroll...breathtaking stuff, where on earth does he learn to fight like that? Alexis Arguello must be looking down on him

I thought this guy Viloria is certainly too old, but when I saw him shaping up before the opening bell ...I thought, now HERE is a man who doesn't give a flying f***k who he's in with, he is GOING for it. Then he comes out winging bombs and just refused to be beat, despite some awesome hammer blows landing on him, all night he kept trying, an incredible warrior - and Gonzales would have got a lot of fighters out of there inside 4,rounds last night I reckon.

Who is next for this amazing fighter? hopefully they can make it with the Japanese phenom ..at super fly I think he is.
