He already fought Smith at LHW and this new guy will be even easier, no one said Kovalev should be next fight but a step up from sh1tty Paul Smith will do, Yunieski Gonzalez would have been a good fight. He's supposed to be P4P top 5 (No.1 according to some Americans) so he should be fighting at a high level.

And I thought Smith and Periban were bad choices

I guess Dre is getting great LHW experience against these types of blown-up, mediocre opponents.

Since the super six I am pretty sure there isn't a boxer alive who has been worse-managed than ward.

I mean, really? Andre Ward vs Rohan Murdock?

This is even worse than Quillin fighting that stripper.

& how much slack would you cut him were he to hail from, say, Copenhagen or Murmansk rather than Oakland...?

No better way to acclimate to 175 than by facing a mediocre SMW.

Ward is vacating 168 bc he knows GGG is a puss. He's going into a division with killers like Kovalev, Beterbiev and Adonis and you clowns will still find the half glass empty.

I'll praise him when he fights those killers.

Right now he's facing blown up SMWs who aren't remotely world class.

I don't give a damn where a guy is from. If he's dominating he's dominating. I don't care if his skin is purple or green. I don't have a reason to hate people from friggin Denmark. Why would I care? Some outsiders don't like Americans. Inferiority complex. I get it. It's ok I'll say it for you.

* Beats Paul Fatboy Smith (a British title level fighter, who had never fought at the weight).

* Fights unknown Aussie from a weight division below

* Promises to fight someone better soon

Now Ward's problems are rooted in 3G being "a puss?"

Come on, man. That is some weak sh!t you're serving up.

3G is unifying middleweight. What exactly has Ward done of note in nearing a handful of years, besides commentate and do movie cameos?

I'm sure 3G would have been happy to fight him at MW, the way Ward fought Dawson at SMW.

I hope Ward finally gets rolling again at LHW but his problems are of his own decision making. They have nothing to do with 3G.

You're a Russian moron. You can't fight if court doesn't allow you. Put your bias aside and use your noodle.

Ward is a real puss. He never really wanted to fight GGG. Golovkin was been available for years, but Ward preferred to fight Rodriguez or not fight at all. As soon as Golovkin got his first PPV and good chances of having more MW unifications, Ward is suddenly interested ? As most of the others, he "wants Golovkin but not right now".

You are certainly one of the worst Americans.

Did he have to fight Rodriguez, to say nothing of Smith and the next nobody he is facing ???

I think you'll find BP said
"Funny how Golovkin is supposed to face Ward in his first bout at 168,despite having more attractive options out there, "

He never stated better options at 168. Just better options.
Option which wouldn't require leaving his weight class.
Cotto would sell better, Canelo would sell better. Either one a unification fight.
Not bigger but Lee, Quillin or Jacobs would probably sell pretty well, represent far less risk and clear up the 160lb ABC title situation.

Ward is "calling him out", while fighting bums at 175lb
