Most/least willing fighters to fight the best in their division

Post by johnswan1 »

What current or recent fighters do you see as not being afraid to lose and regularly wanting to challenge themselves against the best opponents available? And who do you think is most guilty of cherry picking or refusing to fight the best their division has to offer?

Most willing in no particular order:
GGG
Gonzalez
Kovalev
Rigondeaux
Wlad K
Thurman
Porter
Povetkin
Canelo
Froch (retired)
Groves
Murray
Bhop

Least willing in no particular order:
Wilder
Frampton
Ward
Floyd (retired)
Khan
Stevenson
Cotto (modern day catchweight insisting version)

Maybe Floyd hasn't fought the best opponent available every time and he does seem very concerned with his 0, but I don't think he should be on the second list. Overall his opposition has still been far better than most, he's fought several P4P quality fighters and loads of other good opponents, and he often gives up size in doing so.
