Maybe we're being too hard on "The Dominator"
Mehmet looked pretty good in his KO win (his last win) in 2005 at 64kg, against a guy who had a 0/1 record. The same year he beat a guy on debut on points.
He's fought and lost 5 times (in 10 yrs) since then, but must have been doing a lot of hard work behind the scenes to get the extra "muscle" to become a 5"8 heavyweight
Been knocked out in his last five fights... including once at light welterweight! This is an embarrassment for all involved. Germans will sanction any old rubbish, they really will.
I'm with Like a Boss and ra2006 - this has to be bait for people like me, in the form of a fake fight listing posted by boxrec.
C'mon Anton - put us out of our misery

Just knew Mark's career would sparkle once he gave the "Old Shonk" Don King the flick.
Karaka is fighting de Mori, but not Mark - apparently his light heavyweight brother Eric de Mori will be fighting Mehmut. Mark is up against TBA.

Eric de Mori has a similar fondness of a mismatch to his brother. This will be his 9th pro fight and he has never fought anyone with a winning record. Most of his opponents have had diabolical records and Karaka is certainly no exception.
Gnome wrote:Who is de Mori's biggest win against, do you think? Ed Mahone back in the way, but in the last five years probably Perkovic.
Mark de Mori's career best win was probably Ed Mahone. But Mahone had lost 8 of his past 11 and was surely ripe for the picking when he met de Mori. Mahone retired straight afterward too, and though he came back a couple of years later, he lost again and then called it quits for good.
Perkovic's record is nothing to get excited about. Since de Mori beat him he has lost 6 from 7. He is record currently reads 21 wins from 49 fights and he is rated about 400th in the world.

It puts the WBA with his #11 ranking in perspective, eh? Above Teper (just knocked out David Price), Parker (just KO'd Meehan) and Joshua (KO'd everything in his path).

Not trying to change the subject on de Mori, But Parker Vs Joshua would be awesome!.
We could have a sweepstakes for his opponent on Saturday.
Will he be:
- a heavyweight, cruiserweight, or light-heavyweight?
- ranked in the top 100, top 200, top 400?, 400+?
- be aged 20-30, 30-40, 40+?
- have a winning or losing record?
He beat the 634th ranked heavy Marcel Zeller - calls himself "The Highlander" http://boxrec.com/boxer/172610
Lost 11 of his last 13, and his 2 wins were against guys with 0 wins.
Is that a good fight for a guy rated 11th by the WBA?
