Really looking forward to this one, thought Wood was excellent for 5 rounds against McDonnell but then it was all over very quicly.

He seems to have regrouped and gone up to Feather and seems to be hitting a little harder in the video's I have seen. His skill level seems pretty good but I have to admit I did not see him losing to McDonnell after the start he made and the quickness in which the fight turned made me wonder if something was amiss.

Wale is a great pro and if there are any stamina issues or suchlike he will certainly go looking for them, Josh does mark up and cut so that would be a worry from his point of view.

I know some of you lads know more about the Northern scene than most, would be interested to hear what the view is regionally about this fight as it has the potential on paper to be a cracking contest and possibly the best of the night.

If wood is conditioned right and done the weight right he will win on points. He fell apart against gav mac after a great start. wale is tough and game thought he beat mcdonnell wen they fought. His had alot of hard fights think wood outboxes him to win on points.

I agree - from what I have seen of him he seems to have had a few hard fights and not been given many breaks along the way.

It would have been good if he could have won a title for all his efforts.

Couldn't agree more. It just seems like he's destined to be the nearly man of British boxing as far as domestic titles are concerned.

Hes openly admitted he got it wrong with the weight for the McDonnell fight and said he knew after just a couple of rounds that he wouldnt be able to do it for the 12 and was hoping to get lucky. If McDonnell ever moves up to feather id expect Wood to immediately try to get a rematch and id back him to win handily too. But lets not forget hes got to get past Wale first, who himself gave McDonnell all sorts of trouble

I fancy Leigh Wood to win this one. But the formline for this one is pretty complicated.

Wood lost to McDonnell but looked weight-drained and looked very good for first few rounds, so hard to judge based on that fight.

In Josh Wale last fight he was lucky to get a decision against Dai Davies. On paper Dai Davies record looks poor but in reality if he fancied it and is given notice he's a very good domestic operator.

Should be a good fight as I said I favour Wood because Wale seems to have been in a couple to many wars.

Could be ironic given that there is a worst or best picks post active at the moment but I believe Leigh Wood will stop wale.

Leigh packs a punch and wale comes on to them. Leigh also can cut up opponents with slicing shots.

Think him winning will open up many doors for Nottingham boxing. With him soon to be contesting domestic honours, and Eckow essuman on the elite squad likely to turn pro following the Olympics them boxing could be doing well in the area again.
