Lenny Daws vs Ruben Nieto

Post by ILikeBeer »

For the EBU super lightweight. I've got no source, because I just saw Hobson mention it on Twitter.

Going to be live on Channel 5. Venue to be announced later.

That's the UK Snooker Championship semi-final. I got that week off work.

Hopefully the semi will be over by the time that starts. Either that, or do a two TV jobby. (Move the freeview telly into my living room, and have two tellys going with my mini-fridge on.)

I'll buy a box of 15 cans instead of 20. Should be fine. :TU:

This fights on this Channel 5 this saturday, undercard on Spike, should be good

I'd love to see Daws finally get his hand on the European title he's been plugging away in the shadows for years now,i never seen his last attempt at the belt against Di Rocco but apparantly he was well unlucky and there were a lot of fishy shennanigans going down,i havent seen Nieto before but he lost a close decision against Di Rocco too which leads me to believe he got jobbed as well

Lenny has 1 of the best engines in the business,i dont know anything about Nieto's style but i'll go with Daws on points

Bob Ajisafe was supposed to be on the undercard, but doesn't look like he is now.

Looking forward to this should be a decent scrap. would love to see Daws vs Limond for the European if he wins. That has the makings of a right good contest.

Di Rocco/Daws was close tbh, Had Lenny by 2 but he was away and some of the rounds were very close and it does happen that way most of the time. Nieto/Di Rocco I had much wider to be honest and thought Nieto only got so close on the cards because he was the home fighter and local hero, cant remember exactly but I think I had Di Rocco by 4 or 5 in that one.

His opponent has gone 12 with Yafai 8 /8 with Kiko Martinez and even years ago went 11 with Leo Santa Cruz can clearly look after himself.

Want Selby stepping up big next year though.

I think Sky are showing the Sauerland show Saturday as well.
Sprott boxing a 9 and 0 guy, Freddie Kewitt and Chisora boxing, so bit of British interest.

Briceno looks like a good opponent at this stage. And I particularly like how he managed to fight Santa Cruz for the "interim WBC Youth World bantamweight title" when aged 33...
