I don't think the OP is as farfetched as some are trying to say.

Even during the demolition of BHop, there were things I saw Bernard do that befuddled Kovalev.

Ward is a younger, faster, stronger, and harder hitting version of Hopkins. And the triggers BHop couldn't pull, Andre Ward almost certainly will.

It could indeed turn into a nightmare for Kovalev.

Ward doesn't have Bernard's chin, so he is not going to last 12 rounds as BHop.

He has taken shots from Froch, Kessler, and Abraham among others. I think he will have enough defense not to get caught too often and enough chin to handle it when he occasionally does get tagged.

These guys don't hit nearly as hard as Kovalev, and Ward will not be able to clinch as successfully with the guy of his own size.

The major problem for come forward pressure fighters is that guys like Ward, Hopkins and Floyd
have styles that are made to defeat that kind of opponent.
Like Hopkins did with Kovalev right?

This is similar to what I'm talking about. It doesn't mean that the power fighter will lose, but any fighter of that type
will have major problems with Ward.
Maybe you should go back to watching Pokemon!
BAD INTENTIONS wrote:So far, the only type of fighter who somewhat consistently gives these types of guys problems are busy long fast fighters.
Like Bika was this long fast fighter right?

Go back to watching Pokemon as it is more in line with your intelligence level.

Kovalev will wreck Ward if and when Ward decides to test himself at 175. That chin is getting smashed into a thousand tiny pieces.
Hooray!!! I finally learned to ignore Boxrec criticism.

If you use Kovalev/Hopkins as proof of anything except Kovalev is good and Hopkins is old ... whatever.

If you don't think that throughout ALL sports, there are certain styles and attributes that
provide a natural advantage over other styles and attributes ... whatever.

If think Sakio Bika gave Ward "consistent problems" ... whatever.

Smashed into 1,000 tiny pieces ... as usual, this sounds more personal than an objective analysis ... whatever.

I've done enough of the boy talk here. If you can't provide more boxing specific points than insults,
then respond to someone else.

Ward's got an interesting place in the sport--he simultaneously gets short shrift and too much credit. The way he manhandled and roughed up Carl Froch was genuinely something to tip your cap at, but it happened in freakin' 2011 and it does not make him a world-beater in late 2015.

I was a huge SOGgy supporter during the SSix. I would like to cheer him on again, but I'm not holding my breath. His sense of entitlement is embarrassing.

I'm from the East Bay. I love Ward's boxing style, unlike so many. I understand his career challenges but there is no excuse for what is going on now.

SOGgy has faced no one as dangerous as Krusher. The Russian's combination of power, size and skill is formidable.

If he actually gets in the ring with Kovalev I will be rooting for him but it will not be a drained Dawson in there.

Ward is far too inactive to beat Kovalev even if he is the better boxer hes not been boxing enough and it'll show when he fights a guy who isnt terrible, would of loved to see what Kovalev would of done to Paul Smith instead, 30 seconds maybe?

Yeah, I have an idea what words you'd like to use, I've certainly noticed a pattern.

bnovelist wrote: 22 Oct 2015, 10:18 You saw what Floyd did to Corrales and Canelo...You saw what Rigo did to Nonito...You witnessed how easily Ward dispatched of Froch, Kessler,

Abraham, and Dawson. Kovalev will meet the SAME fate  :DD :DDD

Looking terribly confused & frustrated in between rounds resorting to illegal tactics where Ward decided to turn it up a notch hurting him badly

with the inside fighting popping Sergey's head up several times during the in fighting. Ward is going to totally outclass Kovalev.

Then of course Kovalev will then put the blame on John David terminating him 2 weeks after the fight. They will fall out and Sergey will be the one

to blame  So don't get your hopes up I'm just giving you the heads up! :bag:
Hard to say this but Bnovelist was spot on....just so happens, it took two fights instead of one.

lol he says it wont be competitive at all and ward will totally outclass him, and you bump this thread to say hes right

lol sure, kov wasnt competitive at all, not like he floored ward and won about the same number of rounds

you see, you go on about kov being wildly overrated , but there were lots of people saying hed be totally outboxed and outclassed, as we can see some of here. he wasnt at all.
