Crawford vs Mayweather
Crawford vs Mayweather
If Crawford beats Pacquiao impressively, even more so than Floyd did, he will be that guy and eyes will be on Floyd for one more fight. What happens?

Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
I don't think Floyd would take it. Floyd seems to be all about the money, and has been for some time. I think he's probably got enough now for it to be less of a motivating factor.
Of course, I may be wrong on this, but I doubt we'll see Floyd in the ring again unless it's for a Pacman rematch or a second farewell '120-108' fight.

Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
I don't see any rationale for FMJ to take on Crawford. He's not a big enough star, and if Floyd does return for one last fight, he can make more money elsewhere. He's not going to take on a fighter at his peak like Crawford.
Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
The hype around Crawford is getting borderline annoying. Pacquioa would/will beat the brakes off him. If he gets past Postol maybe then we can talk about his chances vs Welterweight opposition like Brook, Khan or Thurman.
Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
If Crawford beats Pac impressively, there is no way Floyd will want to be anywhere near him. When did you last see Floyd looking for a challenge ?
Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
If he beats Pacquiao he will and right now he might be a bigger star than Guerrero was.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I don't see any rationale for FMJ to take on Crawford. Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
crawford will not beat pac impressively, and unless pac has slid a lot
crawford will not win period. if crawford wins or loses by close decision,
the best anyone can hope for, i doubt floyd would want to deal with
arum again. floyd would fight someone he had signed or some haymon
managed fighter if he wanted one more, and somebody safe.

Wtf? Floyd is so comfortable at 154 that he has not fought there in over 2 yearsverballistic wrote:If TC wins over Pac I dont see Floyd facing him. Floyd is comfortable at 154 and is most likely looking for a softer touch if he does come back. I dont see Crawford moving up to 154 for another few years (he was a lightweight less than a year ago) and by then Floyd would be 40+.IKSRTFO wrote:If Crawford beats Pacquiao impressively, even more so than Floyd did, he will be that guy and eyes will be on Floyd for one more fight. Well he couldn't comfortably make Welterweight in the biggest fight of his career, apparently he dehydrated himself into a medical emergency that required a team of paramedics.

Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
Regardless of what happens with Manny, it's clear that Crawford isn't ready for Floyd.
We should be talking about Crawford VS Spence. That's the future.

Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
Pac already said TC isn't his first choice, so doubt if it happens. Imo Crawford isn't quite ready for any welter, or the weight, or he would be there. He hasn't even fought the best guys at 140 yet.
I think his chances against Pac are better than for Floyd, but him winning imo is doubtful at this point. I think he should be tested more first. At 140 Broner and Postol, Provo...even Algieri. He beats a couple of them he can test the waters at 147. He did beat Danny G in amateurs, but that's amateurs. Crawford may be great, but has work to do yet.

Re: Crawford vs Mayweather
I'd have a hard time betting against TC any time he steps through those ropes. You can clearly see that this kid is not a huge fan of losing an exchange much less a round or a fight. He certainly has an extra gear and an attitude. He reminds me a lot of Tommy Hearns early in his career when he was knocking everyone out. He hated everyone inside that ring and wanted to torture those that asked for it.
Floyd would never take the fight and I can't wait until we just stop talking about Floyd completely. It's over...he's retired. Lets' all move on for GodSake.
