Mark Prince?
Mark Prince?
How's Prince been looking in his fights? I was just messing around on the main site and saw that he won again on Friday and is now 4-0 since he embarked on his comeback.

Re: Mark Prince?
I havent seen him since his return, but its hard to say based on his opponents having largely losing records.
Back in August last year he did 10 rounds with a guy and won comfortably on points who Enzo Macc stopped in 5 a few weeks ago (having put him down 3 times)

That video was tragic. Like the sort of crap you see on the American club scene. I assume it was a Maltese boxing production and not something the BBBoC sanctioned ?

It was a Malta show

Wow 14 years out and then a come back, what's the story there?
Re: Mark Prince?
A very tragic one, Roy. His son was murdered by another youth with a knife, I'm sure Mark came back to raise awareness for a foundation for his son go do with raising awareness of the dangers of carrying knives. That's from memory, someone else will know more.Nightmare Roy wrote:Wow 14 years out and then a come back, what's the story there?

Re: Mark Prince?
I can still remember the phenomenonal scrap he had with Michael Gale, Mark was a very intimidating figure. Losing a son like that must be heartbreaking and I too hope his fights help him through an do some good.

I forgot how mad the Gale fight was, at the end it was brutal.

Yes was a great scrap, Michael was a stablemate of mine at the time and can remember how sick I felt for him coming within a whisker of victory.Old bones Ian wrote:I forgot how mad the Gale fight was, at the end it was brutal.

Re: Mark Prince?
That was such a hard knockout , you can see why Gale wasn't the same when he came back few months later.
Re: Mark Prince?
Yeah the Gale fight was crazy. He also gave it a go against Dariusz M but came up well short. He was slated to fight Eubank around the time he fought Calzaghe but they managed to convince him to boil down to super middle again.
Re: Mark Prince?
That fight reminded me a little of the Mark Baker (he was a traveller) and Dean Francis fight. He also had a humdinger with Sven Hamer.

As I remember Prince was a bit of a bully and when he fought Michalzewski he did that silliness where he dropped his hands and said 'come on' then Dariusz knocked him out straight away

No. His family owned a fruit shop he worked in in Leeds. Quality amateur and talented pro but struggled with his weight a bit. Church goer nowadays.rpms wrote:Was Gale from a travelling family ?
