I might agree with the Joshua assessment but the Parker, Wilxer, Tyson Fury, Hughie Fury and add a few more has way more potential as promotional entertainment group then the others you mentioned especially since they all speak English but I will add the very talented Oleksandr Usyk to the list though.

Usyk and Joshua are the only guys I see being anything above average. I bet Wilder is out of boxing in 3 years

I think that you have identified the elites but I would add Joseph Parker as a close second. . . in any event the matches for years to come will be competitive, exciting and newsworthy.

I agree about Wilder. Joshua has looked very good so far. Usyk has looked sensational and after only eight fights BoxRec already has him ranked #6 in the world, but he's been fighting as a cruiserweight.

Parker and Joshua are in the Top Class for young HW prospects.

Hughie is close.

Amazingly Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are Still Mysteries. Many like to write Deontay and Tyson Fury off, but Wlad had a great run despite a much shakier start than either Deontay or Tyson F.

There is no golden era. Just new exciting faces
New exciting faces always came around
Haye, povetkin, Sam Peter , pulev,
There problem was wladimir

And there's always so called future stars who fall short and never get up again like
Arreola, price , chagaev. Etc

To use the phrase golden era we need 3-4 wladimir calibre fighters
But we don't have any , maybe Joshua

I can't see wilder and maybe Parker reaching that level wlad is/was

There are plenty of good young heavyweights coming through, but most of them won't hit their prime until Wlad retires.

The only way for them to be considered a golden generation is for one of them to beat Wlad (a tall order in itself) and ten to go on and a have a series of competitive matches against eachother.

If that happens, fantastic, but I won't hold my breath. It's far more likely that Wlad retires without another loss and the belts get spread between several fighters around the world who will all claim to be number one but will be reluctant to face eachother unless there is a fortune on the table.

I hope I'm wrong

Agreed a golden era will only come with a Klitchsko loss. His dominance has been incredible and it will be remembered as a legend - but it terms of bringing excitement and a cutting-edge back in to the Heavyweight division, we really need to see a Tyson Fury victory next month.

Klitschko has signed a contract for another 5 fights, an I do see him having serious problems against Anthony Joshua in one of those fights. In fact I see Joshua winning within two years.

Joshua is the most exciting prospect out there. But don't discount Parker.

If Wlad hangs around long enough someone will beat him. I agree that someone could be Joshua. Particularly if the timing is right.

Reggae,

That's a terrible answer. You're much better than that, man. Come on. You can do better.

Joshua's power seems to be insane. He has never seen the 4th round! No one has treated Love and Johnson to early KOs like Joshua has.

Don't get too excited. He hasn't even fought anyone close to the top 50 yet. Johnson had lost 5 out of his last 6 fights and Love had lost 7 of his previous 13. His fight with Whyte in December shoudl be interesting.

And we don't know how Joshua would react if someone hits him back or he has to go longer than a few rounds. But his power is undeniable. With all due respect to them as professionals, Johnson is a has been and Love is a never was, but Love has forced others like Ruiz, Martin, and Briggs to go the distance or at least go many rounds.

He already beated Kevin Johnson (who has never been Ko before, despite fighting the top of the world, but turned out to be lucky to make it to the second round) and Jason Gavern, who was flagged off a lot faster as he was against Deontay Wilder for example.

I don't understand all of the talk about this golden age appearing only if one of them beats Wladimir .....He is soon to retire (and perhaps Tyson Fury will retire him)....after he's gone the round robin matches involving Deontay, Joshua, Parker, Usyk, Hughie and others will make for an epic decade of heavyweight boxing.
