I am sure the usual Sheffield lot will say he does, however I can't think of another example where a boxer wasn't at that level before and took a 4 year break to come back at a higher level.

His age, inactivity and previous out of ring activities will work against him.

What weight will he be at ? - proper weight, not saying light middle and then weighing in at 12 stone against a bloke who is 2-20 and an 11-stoner

He will weigh 10st 12 on the day and fights duane Green for his first fight back.He has never had a drug problem just fell out with boxing the last time it was posted he was coming back was when he went to the board meeting and said he was but now hes had the medicals dropped the weight and fights in 2 weeks. We wont know if he still got what it takes till after a few fights but at least hes took the 1st step

The Jury's out.
No one knows probably not even Nicki himself until he steps through the ropes.
Hope it works out for him.

At least he will know, when he's in his 40's and past it, that he gave it a proper go.

I know a few ex pro boxers and they regret not really going for it, doing things the right way. It's strange that in a sport as serious as boxing many boxers kind of coast their career. I hope Nicki realises it'll all be over in a few years and he'll have years rationalising to himself and others why he didn't give it a proper crack, go be fair to him though - you can't buy maturity.

When I was younger it used to do my head in when people said things like that and stuff like "youth is wasted on the young" etc. as at the time I thought that I was going to be 22 forever.

It is only now that I am older that I think that it is true !

Thing is palooka in glad he as realised now cause truth be known i thought hed never step in the ring again. His last fight with Nigel wright was partly to blame for him turning his back on the sport he couldnt understand that he never took one clean shot in that fight and never had a mark on him yet nigel was cut on the bridge of the nose both eyes swelled and retired after that and they gave the win to wright.he did throw more shots but nothing landed so he thought i can earn more money away from boxing and to be fair he has.hes now got a little boy and one on the way so his way of thinking as changed. Watching kids fighting for british and commonwealths at super welter has made him think i could beat them so hes been working so hard for last 12 weeks came bach at 14st8 after a stunt on the weights now hes at 11st with 2 weeks to go stronger than ever.but in as shocked as anyone how his head as done a complete turn around.just av to wait and see on 28th if everything is how it was 4 years ago

:TU: best of luck to him, kids do alter how you view life and what sort of a role model you'd like to be. Hope he has a few more good nights and his kids enjoy watching their dad.
