If Froch were to come out of retirement to fight GGG. It would be GGG's coming out party at 168 to gauge himself in a future match up with Andre Ward. Froch ain't beating GGG. GGG would just wear him down.

I think it would be a hard fight whoever won. Carl is a bigger man than GGG, and is used to fighting bigger men. The main thing that Carl always struggled with is speed, and GGG isn't that quick.

I think it would be a fairly even fight. You'd maybe favour golovkin as he is younger, more active, and less miles on the clock, but it's no foregone conclusion.

I appreciate your belief in Golovkin as a cross between Superman and the Incredible Hulk and that Froch needs to prove his worth before fighting him, but he has beaten Abraham up pretty convincingly already and Abraham has faded since then. Froch wouldn't get out of bed to fight Badou Jack and James Degale is in no way soft and personally I think as Froch is probably not going to come out of retirement it would be extremely impressive if Golvkin moved up in weight and took him on straight away, let alone if Froch came out of retirement and beat him to 'prove he isn't shot' so that Golovkin was 'allowed' to take credit for beating him. Froch is a guy who fought pretty much everybody in his era and retired with the absolute right to do so. That he considered (however briefly) sticking around to fight Golovkin and is apparently considering testing himself again against the new best of the era is commendable, but not necessary. If he did un-retire it would be to fight the best and that would be Golovkin, and he wouldn't have to prove himself to do it. It would be to challenge himself one last time. If he beat Golovkin would Golovkin be labelled as too small or overrated having only fought B listers and never were's? It's weird that you want to try and big up all of Golovkin's rubbish opponents but when very good opponents (Froch and Ward) are mentioned in the same breath as him you think he'll steamroll them. You realise both these guys would kill all of Golovkin's opponents in similar fashion? None of them would last the distance with either of them. When was the last time when feather-fisted Ward stopped somebody fighting at his own weight ? 2009 when he stopped a journeyman who was stopped twice before that. No way Ward would stop Murray or Stevens.

I am not obsessed with anybody. However, I have eyes and I believe that Golovkin would beat Froch and Ward regardless of their resumes. Resumes don't fight -- boxers do. Ward clearly WAS the best of these two potential opponents, but he has never been in the ring with somebody like Golovkin and he has clearly lost something, as he is avoiding fighting anybody with a pulse.

Who needs to calm down is you, regardless whether you are praying Froch or Ward.

GGG makes his fellow 160lbers look even shitter than they are because he's really fuckin good. But lets not forget how shitty they are.

At 160 he will never have an opponent properly challenge him I am sure and no, not his fault he plies his trade in a shitty age for middleweights.

Certainly, when has Froch ever backed down from a challenge? Throughout his whole career he always wanted the toughest fights, he spent the early part of his career chasing Joe Calzaghe for god sake. And he took fights against the likes of Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler (x2)

He didn't have to, but he was thinking about it saying that if he fights anybody, it would be Golovkin. He twitted "Too big, too strong for GGG", but when Loefler replied suggesting him to prove it, Froch disappeared.

Froch had plenty of very good opponents to face, Golovkin was just one of them.

Hopefully it can still happen and we'll see if Froch can prove it or not.
