RIP. A tough, brave boxer - just short of true world class but always good value for money.

It's true. He was hospitalized in 2010 for liver failure because of alcohol. Though he continued to drink. He was on the waiting list for a liver transplant but they couldn't find a donor for him.

RIP he was a decent fighter.

Very decent fighter, a true fighter. Might not have had the greatest athletic skills and certainly had issues with dedication but was a proper fighter - with more dedication could have gone further.

Thinking about it, with the proliferation of the titles these days he must be one of the better Heavyweights of the last 10 years not to have fought for the world title - when you think Audley, Danny, and Skelton all fought for versions of the title.

He featured in the greatest heavyweight fight I ever refereed against Luan Krasniqi for the European title. 12 rounds of true grit. RIP CHAMP.

My favourite fighter of the 1990's alongside Lawrence Clay Bey - hard as nails, fast hands and looked deceptive as he was a proper 12 round fighter. RIP champ.

Out of every weight division, you're two very favourite fighters of that entire decade were LCB and SSS, really?

Edit: p.s. SSS only turned pro in 2000. You're losing it.

I remember those fights, especially the Francis fight.

Julius was terrified & couldn't wait to lose.

In fact, I swear he took a dive in the end, although I could never prove that.

RIP Sinan.

RIP. Like many, I was bamboozled, beleaguered and amazed when he mopped the floor with Danny. A very professional display.
I expect he was a big star there - why wouldn't he be?

Really? I am positive that the Williams v Sam fight was around 2002 (I picked Sam to win that one, saying he would 'step on Williams toes and push him back to stop him, which is what he did :geek2: ) I am sure you are right but I would have thought Sam turned pro a lot earlier than 2000.

Though fat, fast handed heavies have always been a favourite of mine, Buster Mathis Jr was another favourite. :OhYes:
