AJ-Whyte Presser

Post by johnswan1 »

Did Sky Sports show it live?

I was at it. DW was trying to wind AJ up throughout but AJ didn't bite at all. DW predicting a KO win in rounds 6-8. AJ not making predictions. DW put his hands on AJs chest during the stare down but AJ didn't react. Pretty uneventful overall.

How do they compare physically? I've seen them both in the flesh separately but never together.

Whyte definitely has the longer arms.

If he's been working on his jab and his left shoulder has healed properly, it could cause some problems for AJ.

Big if mind.

There isnt a huge difference in height and that would be negated anyway if Dillian has longer arms.

I've just gotten so used to AJ smashing his way through opponents that I cant imagine anything else.

I'd love to see him in a genuine test. No disrespect to Whyte, but I don't think this is.

Lets hope it goes more than a couple of rounds.

All nonsense of course these head to heads but AJ looks very irritated around Whyte. That cheesy grin Whyte is giving him will get under his skin slightly.

I like DW, he's a really down to earth person, he doesn't look one bit intimidated, despite some people saying he looks scared which I think is bollocks. Just watched an interview with that dickhead James whatever his name is from my I film London (???) implying that Whyte should be annoyed with all the people turning up interviewing him on iPads and phones.. instead of Ifilm because he's got a proper camera, what a major league twat he is, and the plank is quickly put in his place by Whyte... nice one :TU:

That grin from Dillian is indeed amusing. He's a brave guy and a bit of a character, I hope he does well but cant see him winning.

Tbf to helder I think he might have been having a joke with somebody. Dont think it was too long ago he was doing the same thing.
As for Whyte he looked extremeley relaxed. It was Joshua who looked more wound up.
Whyte has always seemed very cool in all his interviews and I hope he can pulll it off...

Whyte is definitely very relaxed, not afraid of AJ at all and probably smarter than he's being given credit for.

I saw an IFL vid yesterday where Whyte was implying that Joshua's crew were mouthing off so he brought his crew down and no one said a word. I was surprised to see Jimi Manuwa there (UFC fighter from London) guessing hes mates with Whyte then and probably the main reasons Joshua's lot didn't pipe up again!

All in all I like both but I want a British boxing superstar and I can only see that in AJ. Hope he's as good as the hype and gets the stoppage in style.

Whyte had more crew with him than AJ, definitely, and was getting a lot of support and laughs from his crew on his quips re AJ.

No didn't sound like that at all, he couched it in a joke, but numb nuts was clearly implying that he's now a "proper" journo, because he's got a camera, unlike all those amateurs with ipads...except Whyte slapped him down :TU:

Back to the fight ( and I've no idea if this is PPV, maybe Sky don't yet either ) AJ looks massive, much bigger that DW in frame. It might be a mismatch, though I'm really hoping Whyte gives him a real test.

There looks quite a big difference in size to me. In fact, Whyte looks the smallest bloke on the video. I note he's listed as 6'4" on Boxrec, but Hearn and all the security seem taller, and Joshua seems to tower over Whyte.
Eddie H is a good 6'4. I'm 6'2 and he's at least a couple of inches taller than me. I don't think Whyte is a genuine 6'4. He's certainly at least 2 inches shorter than AJ maybe more.

I like the videos IFL TV do but I don't think anyone could in any way describe them as journalists. Basically they are two random guys wandering around with a camera. Nothing particularly professional about them and I guess that's why I like their videos. That said, I agree totally with your point on them becoming divas. They should consider themselves privileged to have the access they do rather than belittle others who are simply trying to do the same.

Both are top blokes imo.

I think Dillian is getting to AJ a bit but I can't see it working in his favour. AJ will get him out of there inside 6,

I think the point he's making is that Ifl turn up at pressers for all Matchroom/FW pressers/shows and even for smaller promoters as well, all over the country, and have done for years, but these Ipad blokes only turn up for the big one's and only recently.

Fair enough to be annoyed by that.
