And would be 5 separate 'stacked' Sky cards and Hearn PPV transmissions. allegedly is the best value feasible for boxing. Hopefully it will kill off sky sports boxingskanksta wrote:This card is now officially...

Re: Massive Russian card
I am interested in this main event. Can't remember Povetkin versus a tall dude like Wach; perfect practice for facing Wilder, imo (should Wilder's brainstrust ever grow some bollocks, that is).

Polish anthem is forgettable. Russian anthem is rousing. The kind of thing that is played before sending young men to their death :(

Barrie Jones is the best commentator in boxing. John Rawling has a good speaking voice but does talk a lot of tosh

Re: Massive Russian card
Is it me, or is Povetkin blowing a bit? He's doing very well, but I wonder how long he can keep it up against such a monster (lucky for him, Wach is too inept to lean all over the Russian; he lacks the modern heavyweight's best weapon, the patented Klitschko hug & lean-on).
EDIT; spelling.

Re: Massive Russian card
Forget I said that. Povetkin beat the shite outta him that round. Lovely body-work & the overhand right lands with thudding regularity. Povetkin got his second wind there.
Re: Massive Russian card
So do we think Povetkin smashes wilder ?
Re: Massive Russian card
Great card. What was the result ?
Re: Massive Russian card
Bocksnation absolutely pisses over Sky. Praise be to Wazza.
Re: Massive Russian card
Povetkin won in the 12th round ref stopped it due to a bad cut under Wachs left eye.cutsman wrote:Great card. What was the result ?
Not seen the other fights yet. Afolabi won via stoppage as the away fighter
Re: Massive Russian card
Was really hoping wach was going to be a Joshua opponent this year. Man has a chin on him. Povetkin cleans out Wilder I think.

Re: Massive Russian card
What a great card, if only because of those two early sensational upsets. The shock on the Russians face was a sight to behold, it's not often they see their local heroes upset like that.
The Durodola fight was terrific, he was almost taken out in the first round, but the Russian was waaaay too confident and took one hell of a beating, the always useless Jay Nady almost got the Russian boy killed, such was his fear of stopping the local favourite, who ironically showed a great chin....and an amazing ( if unfortunate ) ability to take punches without going down.
And Povetkin has really come on leaps and bounds since they started his steroids program, he looks a completely different fighter. He can really punch these days too.
