MP thanks so much for the inside info mate. :TU:

Would love to see this fight in Oz next year. How do you see it going MP ?
I think it will be close early in the piece but Soliman will take over in the mid rounds and I think Geale will quit on his stool at the end of the 10th round.

MP can you please give an honest analyse of the current state of Australian boxing and where you see it headed over the next 5 to 10 years. What are the good and bad points ? Is there anyone out there who can become a star and have good success overseas ?

As of now the Australian boxing scene is pretty bad, those who are world rated do not stand a chance when they step up, the last generation of fighters who are coming to the end of their careers at least on the world scene made a contest of it, like Katsidis against Marquez, Casamayor and his win over Mitchell in England.

Paul Briggs had a couple of good fights just falling short against Adamak. Hussein gave Arce a tough fight, he also went 12 with the Thai fighter who was long time reigning WBC champ, Skinny gave Pac a tough fight and went 12 rounds with Larios. Meehan went alright in his fight with Brewster, even Mundine & Green were serious contenders at super middleweight.

But this generation the Aussies are getting completely blown out when they step up, like Geale against Golovkin & Cotto, Talipau against Ramirez, Brunker against Selby, Caparello against Kovalev, Dib against Miura, Tomlinson against Vargas, the list goes on and they were absolute one sided drubbings.
A lot of fans have tickets on the Horn kid to be the future but after his last fight against a sub par opponent he looked very ordinary.

Not sure what the next 5 to 10 years will hold as boxing is not a very popular sport with all the codes of football available.
