Another list compiled that I have made recently. The top 25 Jr. welters ever that stepped into the pro ranks.

I'd of put Chavez top myself

I'd go with Pryor on top but Benitez would have given any-one on that list nightmare's

I've seen some of these guys and some have not.

But I think Chavez would take Pryor and deserve to rate above him.Pryor was relentless but I don't think he punched hard even though his high KO percentage. I think more an accumulation than power.

How would he fare against someone pressuring him like Chavez would? Arguello punched hard for sure but was slow and waited.

Chavez would have been like a bulldog,glued to his chest hammering away.

Chavez to me was one of the greatest pound for pound.He could do it all .

Benitez though one of my favorites was sporadic depending on which Benitez came to fight determining where he goes on the list.But his age alone against such an experienced fighter/Champion, says a lot.

I was impressed with Locche at what a defense he had so effortless.

I liked Hatton but don't know if he was elite though tough and dangerous for sure.

I liked Roger Mayweather a lot. I once read a description of him as the poor man's Hearns.
I thought he was a good dangerous fighter. Him and Floyd sr I really thought were good. Fighters, not runners.

Pryor vs Chavez would've been an explosive contest. That's for sure. I think Chavez wins by late stoppage

Chavez at #1 for me as well.
Hatton looks right on the low side as well....he's top 15 for my money.

I'd also make a case for Saoul Mamby who had a decent reign getting in to the top 25...perhaps on the lower end.
Record looks garbage but Saoul had a good run and it was only later that he turned paid-opponent and for a very long time.

I'd probably go with Barney Ross. With Canzoneri and McLarnin up there too.

The great Barney Ross was very underrated. Also the great Jack "Kid" Berg from England. He made 11 title defenses of the World's Jr. Welterweight Crown.

Ross never lost his world title belt. He made about 9 successful defenses if I'm not mistaken.
