Green's Next Bout mooted for 2nd December
Green's Next Bout mooted for 2nd December
It was reported in the media today that Danny Green has arrived in Melbourne to prepare for Germany’s Konni Konrad at Hisense Arena on December 2 and no doubt will be hanging around the upcoming Mundine bout.
But this Green card is yet to be listed in BoxRec's schedule, which is a bit of a worry being only three and half weeks away!

The Mundine fans who have been a long time claiming he had more money than he knew what to do with and didn't need a Green rematch got it very wrong as it turns out.GhostBoxing15 wrote:Lucky a bum fight like that gets any attention at all, lucky the water is fluoridated & his brainwashed fans are in a stupor frothing at the mouth for a Mundine rematch
“It’s got to be 60/40 my way – then we can start talking.”
They aren't the words of a guy who doesn''t want the fight. They are the words of a guy looking for the money to make it happen

This fight is ordinary and so is the undercard. Expect Green to mention Mundines name in the build up to sell this dross. :P

Calling Mundine out is just the easiest way & the red neck fans lap it up, I'm guessing calling out Brock Lesnar & Evandar Holyfield never worked, so Choc is the No.1 promotion toolbogan whisperer wrote:just like Mundine is mentioning Green's name in the lead-up to his fight:DA GOOSE wrote:This fight is ordinary and so is the undercard. No Cruiserweight can handle Greeny's power. He's 0-2(2 KO's) at Cruiserweight.

Mundine uses Green's name to promote ticket sales of his fights and Green uses Mundine's name to promote ticket sales of his fights. Not sure why it's such a big deal to you? Boxers have been doing that sort of stuff forever.DA GOOSE wrote:@ bogan whisperer thinking they are equal. Greeny uses Mundines name way more I suppose anyway to deflect from this awful match up.
This is a terrible fight I don't see how any true boxing fan can justify Greeny fighting a lowly ranked LHW 7 kg above his natural weight limit.
Re: Green's Next Bout mooted for 2nd December
A very accurate article about this upcoming fight. This guy won't be on Greeny's free journo pass list.

Boxing news
On December second, 42-year-old Danny Green will climb into the ring for his second fight after a 33-month lay off to fight German-based Montenegrin garbage man Konni Konrad.
Green has a long list of questionable opponents and Konrad is no exception. Konrad has a world ranking of 129 on the boxrec non-biased computerised rankings system. His record currently stands at 22 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw, not to bad you might say? A closer look at Konrad’s record tells the real story, of his 22 wins 15 have come from fighting fighters who have lost more then 50 per cent of their fights, with the other 7 wins coming against fighters with less then impressive records.
In Konrad’s last bout he was was completely outclassed and stopped in seven rounds by WBA regular ‘champion’ Juergen Braehmer – Sergey Kovalev is the actual champion.
Green states that Konrad “is definitely going to be a very stern test.” and that “He’s a hungry young bloke who’s coming to take what I’ve got. We’ve chosen a guy who’s going to test me.” Perhaps Green’s looking for the stern type of test he got from South African club fighter Anthony van Niekerk when he made his first comeback in 2009, or when he fought Argentinean plumber Julio Cesar Dominguez for the farcical and largely unrecognised vacant IBO cruiserweight world title. And how could we forget Green’s ‘world title’ defence against a very ill Paul Briggs who had retired three years prior due to neurological problems.
One must question what Green’s intentions are this stage of his career. If his shameless calling out of Anthony Mundine is to truly try and get his longtime rival into the ring, why is he not fighting at light heavyweight, a weight that Mundine recently said he would consider to fight Green at?
Since 2009 Green has campaigned as a cruiserweight with 9 of his 11 fights being fought at a catchweight, bringing super middleweights and light heavyweights up to his catchweight and even a heavyweight down to fight in what has become known as the ‘Danny division’.
Green touched the scales at 84.93kg for his last fight against the limited Roberto Bolonti. Assuming he weighs in the same for his next bout he will still be 5.56kg over the light heavyweight limit of 79.378kg. Does Green really think a fight with Mundine will happen or is he simply trying to milk their rivalry to the very last drop?

He is milking it, otherwise he is delusional thinking that the two will ever get together in the ring!Does Green really think a fight with Mundine will happen or is he simply trying to milk their rivalry to the very last drop?

This forum will collapse if Green & Mundine don't stick around for years
Re: Green's Next Bout mooted for 2nd December
Right, from the start Braehmer is a very weak world champion, yes he is world champion but when ever he steps up he gets found out.
This is a warm up the sense that Danny can have a fight at Dannyweight against a 'World championship contender', and therefore it might carry some weight with the non boxing centric national tabloids.
Stupid fight, might do well on the PPV figures.

It's also been reported it's at 86kg,7kg above his usual fighting weight. The usual suspects in the media will make it sound like the fight of the century.ra2006 wrote:Right, from the start Braehmer is a very weak world champion, yes he is world champion but when ever he steps up he gets found out.

Yet the card still remains "missing in action" or is it "missing, inaction" in BoxRec's schedules.
This scheduling inactivity, with the bout just over 3 weeks out says something about the veracity of the event.

Andrew Moloney vs Robert Lerio (Philippines) in a 10-round Australian Bantamweight Title bout
Mitchell Middleton Clark vs Areta Gilbert in an 8-round Victorian Super-Middleweight State Title bout
Terry Tzouramanis vs Shadey Souied in an 8-round Victorian Super Lightweight Title bout
