I saw that photo on Helenius' Facebook page too. Yes, he looks about 3 inches taller than Wlad . What kind of hand sign is Wlad makng? Boxrec shows no preliminary fight before he fights Teper and that fight is next month so there's really no time for one. Like I said I expect Helenius to come back big and go right to the very top of the heavyweight ranks.

It's all bullshit
Fury listed as 3 inch taller than wlad. Yet heD to head only seems 1 inch my . Helenius and wilder are more clearly taller over wlad than fury is

Re: Helenius The Nordic Nightmare Is Back!
Fury slouches, but I think 6'8" for him is more likely.
If you look at the photo of Wlad and Helenius, Robert is standing more upright than Wlad, so I think it's likely he's only an inch taller. I'd say Wlad is 6'5 1/2 and Helenius is 6'6 1/2".
Interestingly, I saw an video of David Price and Helenius in the amateurs and Price looked much bigger - he's definitely a legit 6'8".

Re: Helenius The Nordic Nightmare Is Back!
According to Helenius' Facebook page he is fighting next week! That is so risky right before a huge fight with Teper. He could get cut or hurt or it could unexpectedly turn into a bruising 10 rounder, even tho I would expect a quick Helenius KO you never know. It's not listed on Boxrec...
"Robert Helenius will face Erkan Teper's former foe!
Finnish boxing giant Robert Helenius's opponent on next Saturday in Tallinn will be Erkan Teper's former foe Timur Musafarov from Uzbekistan.
29-year old Timur Musarafov met Erkan Teper, the reigning EBU heavyweight champion who will take on Helenius in Helsinki on the 19th of december, two years ago. Even though Teper won the fight, the win came with a small margin - split decision.
Musafarov has six wins in eight pro-fights. After loss to Teper Musafarov went the distance with Russian star Denis Boytsov and lost after 10-round fight by unanimous decision.
Helenius will face Musafarov in Tallinn Seaplane Harbor next Saturday on the 14th of November. The Three Maestro fight show will also include Timo-Juhani Hirvikangas and Timo Laine."

Heavyweight boxing needs Helenius. I'd pick him to KO Wilder, and rate him as one of the few with a chance to upset Wlad, because he can hit!

I´m really looking forward for this fight. I hope for a big win for Helenius. Nice to see him prepare with Klitschko.
Re: Helenius The Nordic Nightmare Is Back!
I aint never heard of this dude. has he ever fought on PBC?

I still don't see this weekend's fight with Musafarov listed anyplace, but Helenius is still advertising it on his facebook page. It just doesn't make sense to me only one month before Teper. Musafarov is no easy warm up club fighter.

Let's put it this way; he's better than Sammy Vasquez. Fire up the old PC and watch him on youtubejewboypgh wrote:I aint never heard of this dude. has he ever fought on PBC?

He was much promising, but had injury's and stuff like that and was forced to be inactive for quite a while, now he's back again and has a fair shot to become something soon.jewboypgh wrote:I aint never heard of this dude. has he ever fought on PBC?

I still don't see him as the top of the world, or even close and neither do I expect him to ever become that, but he could become a top 10 ish guy I think.

I agree, somehow I do think Wilder slightly has the odds during such a fight.reggaereggae wrote:I think hed have a good shot at beating Wilderasdfjkl wrote:He was much promising, but had injury's and stuff like that and was forced to be inactive for quite a while, now he's back again and has a fair shot to become something soon.jewboypgh wrote:I aint never heard of this dude. has he ever fought on PBC?

This Saturday. Helenius says it's on; BoxRec doesn't list it; and I am puzzled by why it is taking place.

If he convincingly beats Teper...and Musafarov, I would say he'd be a huge favorite over Wilder.

I don't think Robert would ever be officially listed as a favorite over Wilder unless Deontay get's crushed by someone before hand.
If Robert can get back to pre-injury form, he would be a favorite over everyone but Wlad in my estimation.

Your two sentences contradict one another. Your second sentence is about what I said.

The top sentence is in regards to official odds, which will not list Helenius as a favorite over Wilder barring a crushing defeat.x2x wrote:Your two sentences contradict one another. Re: Helenius The Nordic Nightmare Is Back!
Punchout - What do you make of his fight with Musafarov in two days, just one month before his big fight with Teper? Musafarov is no club fighter tho he is much much smaller than H. Most of his fights were as a cruiserweight. He hasn't fought in over a year. His last fight was a decision loss to Denis Boytsov (and I've still not heard anything about what actually happened to him!), and before that a split decision loss to Teper himself. And why isn't this fight listed?
Re: Helenius The Nordic Nightmare Is Back!
The fight with Musafarov is kind of glorified sparring. They will be using sparring gloves. But no headgear. I also think the result will not be official so it does not show on boxrec.
The show fight was supposed to be against Bahktov but he had some kind of PED suspension going on and team Helenius wanted to have nothing to do with that. They took the Timur guy instead because they already sold tickets to the "fight" and didn't want to refund those.

Re: Helenius The Nordic Nightmare Is Back!
I'd imagine it's a practice run. Musafarov is not too dissimilar from Teper in style, though not as big or heavy handed. If things aren't crisp, it's easy enough to postpone Teper with an injury or something. I just expect it's a cobweb shaker. It's not listed because (as the poster above mentions) I *think* it's an exhibition. That being said, if Helenius looks really good it may just become an official fight after the fact. That wouldn't surprise me at all.x2x wrote:Punchout - What do you make of his fight with Musafarov in two days, just one month before his big fight with Teper? They're not billing it as an exhibition. It's advertised as an 8 round fight, "the battle of the baltic sea".
