Anyone seen Wayne Alexander recently?
Re: Anyone seen Wayne Alexander recently?
I like Wayne, he boxed and beat a man I know and Wayne was classy enough to put up a film of him boxing and losing to Patsy Gray - most other boxers would not have put film of them losing but Wayne did, I think that puts him in a good light. If he were in the big house I wish I'd known, I'd have written to him.

Nobody is badmouthing the guy - so I'm not sure what your issue is.Bosh Dorigo wrote:Is this thread really appropriate, debating a boxers possible incarceration for his 'rumoured' out of ring activities?
Bad form I reckon gents
It appears there are some people here who have some actual real knowledge about his situation, judging by their posts.

This is a BOXING forum I believe not Crimewatch, it's not the place for this sort of gossip (in my opinion anyway)jamesmcdonnell wrote:Nobody is badmouthing the guy - so I'm not sure what your issue is.

Re: Anyone seen Wayne Alexander recently?
Boxing is done by boxers, who are people and many people are interested in what boxers and ex boxers do, in training, out of training and its good (if a little nosy) to know what they are up to after they've retired. Most are really happy to learn their favourites are doing well and they get some sympathy when they're not doing so well.

You don't seem to have a problem saying all sorts about Paul Smith, it's much more than criticism, you have got quite personal.Bosh Dorigo wrote:This is a BOXING forum I believe not Crimewatch, it's not the place for this sort of gossip (in my opinion anyway)jamesmcdonnell wrote:Nobody is badmouthing the guy - so I'm not sure what your issue is.

World of difference CoCo, Smith is professional boxer who failed to fulfill his obligations of, first making the weight, second trying to actually win the fight, my criticism is justified.Coco wrote:You don't seem to have a problem saying all sorts about Paul Smith, it's much more than criticism, you have got quite personal.
Alexander has made an unfortunate choice in his personal life and I don't believe a sports related forum is the place to be discussing it.
Re: Anyone seen Wayne Alexander recently?
I'm with Wayne, if he thought he needed to crack him then that's that.
Re: Anyone seen Wayne Alexander recently?
While I don't really disagree with you, Smith certainly deserves criticism, but I think your feelings run deeper, the vast majority of your posts are about him, I sense there is something personal here.Bosh Dorigo wrote:World of difference CoCo, Smith is professional boxer who failed to fulfill his obligations of, first making the weight, second trying to actually win the fight, my criticism is justified.Coco wrote:You don't seem to have a problem saying all sorts about Paul Smith, it's much more than criticism, you have got quite personal.

Well, we are discussing a boxer, and whilst you're entitled to your opinion, I'm afraid I don't agree with it.Bosh Dorigo wrote:World of difference CoCo, Smith is professional boxer who failed to fulfill his obligations of, first making the weight, second trying to actually win the fight, my criticism is justified.Coco wrote:You don't seem to have a problem saying all sorts about Paul Smith, it's much more than criticism, you have got quite personal.
Alexander has made an unfortunate choice in his personal life and I don't believe a sports related forum is the place to be discussing it.
Speculation about what might have happened to Alexander has occurred because people noticed he had disappeared from social media and there are those on here who apparently know the guy in some context.
This is a forum, people discuss things - as I said, nobody is badmouthing the guy, so I don't have any problem. Personally I'm generally not one to judge people, unless of course they have done something particularly heinous, so there's no criticism from me of Wayne.
I know only too well how much boxers struggle in their post career lives, and Wayne would not be the first or last to come to grief - as I said, if indeed he did get a stretch for ABH, that is something which can very easily happen if you work in security, - all it takes is for you to hit someone or assault them in any way, and you can be convicted, especially if you are security and even more so as a former professional boxer.
