I love PBC......but

Why is it so offensive to point out clearly shitty match making? Agenda is definitely showing, sounds like the direction of that agenda is where the discrepancy lies.

It's not.

The people who continually get defensive when PBC is criticized and reflexively accuse others of having agenda (see the PBC warrior Benion for another clear example of this---because he's black and powerful, right Benny?) typically have a very obvious agenda of their own.

My overal grade for the PBC is a C.

We have had an all-time classic fight with Fonfara-Cleverly and some good overal fights from time to time. But Al Haymon for the most part is a terrible matchmaker. Too many stars fighting tomato cans, Wilder fighting Duhapas and before that, Molina? WTF is that? Don't waste our time on these scrubs.

Haymon needs to match up fighters as much as possible with no more than a 70/30 shot at who will win on paper. We have seen too many 80/20, 90/10 type mismatches. Watching the Hayman fighter beat up on some stiff just to fatten his record does not excite me. That's what's hurting PBC more than anything. Don't show boxing just for the sake of filling time with mismatches. If I fight does not have that 60-40 to 50-50 edge with competitive match-making, it's not worth the effort or the time.

And for the love of boxing, please kill the POS Ref Cam! Commissions should not allow this! It is a gag and a gimmick, totally unnecessary for boxing. With better quality shows on a more consistent basis, PBC could be so much better!

Not watched all the PBC but the ones I've seen are ok, the waiting line fights will be given a fair hearing.

I think they have said to the boxers if you come to fight there's a good chance you'll be rewarded, if you choose to participate and f__k about like run excessively hold grab ect it's likely you won't be signed again and have to build yourself up outside the PBC.
It's more of an encouragement for boxers to put more on the line and make a fight of it.
It has put a number of boxers on the map and the divisions can become more familiar because of it, not checked them all but the fights I've seen have been conducted in a very professional manner.

2. Boxing was being run better for at least the last 11 years.

Boxing has been shit since I've been a big fan.
To turn down anything new seems strange.
To ignore many FOTY candidates seems strange.
To claim HBO, Showtime, Top Rank, and Golden Boy is better seems strange.

You got it right here that the foreigners and lower level guys get matched well in competitive fights while his big names get easy touches, nobody would be complaining if everyone was treated equally but the likes of Wilder are getting a free ride.

More dismissive of him than other fighters. Most of those same people wouldn't say Anthony Joshua loses to Povetkin KO 2.

Your memory actually doesn't seem too good. If you read the Wilder-Povetkin thread again (http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f ... 855&hilit=) you should see that before you posted opinions were split between Wilder and Povetkin, and there were also multiple posters who suggested that it would be an easy win for Wilder (no rant about people being dismissive of AP though). Then you came in and stated:

Of course when someone is extremely biased they tend to interprete things in a distorted way, and if you read the above thread and see that as an example of Wilder bashing I think that applies to you in this case.

The Ward racism accusations were an even more glaring example of this and I remember them quite well as a result. About two or three people briefly mentioned Ward, including Saad, who vehemently supported many black boxers during his time here and even took his appellation from one of them. Ward had recently been in fights which featured him heading butting and elbowing opponents, so there were grounds for him being named, yet you came storming in playing the race card as if the same factors that led you to choose Marcos Maidana (you racist bro?) couldn't possibly be applied to Ward. It's unfortunate that there are people like you who are so quick to unreasonably accuse others of racism, as this is the type of thing that just contributes to further animosity between groups while impeding positive interaction.

As for PBC, I already noted that I think it's been okay so far, and I believe that some people probably have a bias that prevents them from fairly evaluating the quality of its product. There have been, however, many mismatches despite Haymon having a very large pool of talent to draw from, so I think some criticism is justified and I find it hypocritical that you so often cry agenda if people disagree with you when you're one of the most agenda-driven posters around.

This idea Arum, gbp or other promotrrs don't work together is a myth. Infact the 'cold war' came about because Richard Schaeffer was operating a con job at GBP secretly signing GBP fighters over to Haymon.

The Stevenson example is best used to describe the damage Haymon is doing. Had Stevenson signed with any other promoter we would have the Kovalev fight on ppv. Instead he's been ring-fenced to PBC, destined to fight bums for the rest of his career while Kovalev ends up rematching Pascal due to lack of contenders.

The only clowns who think Haymon isn't destroying the sport are the cheapos who are happy to watch a couple of champions take on journeymen on free TV.
