Nick Blackwell v Elliot Mathews November 14th
Nick Blackwell v Elliot Mathews November 14th
Just announced live on channel 5 from 10pm (guessing undercard which features Hughie Fury to be shown on Spike tv again)
Re: Nick Blackwell v Elliot Mathews November 14th
Good stuff. I'm firmly tuned in to Blackwell's career now & really enjoy seeing the sucess he's achieving.
This looks a good match-up, but Nick is in such good form, as long as the hunger and willingness to improve is still going strong you have to tip him to put his second notch on the Lonsdale Belt.

It says something that I'm surprised this fight is taking place in Bristol, reasonably close to Blackwell. Seeing his opponent was from Hertfordshire I was half expecting it to be in Inverness or somewhere like that.

Blackwell stops Matthew in 6/7 rounds
Re: Nick Blackwell v Elliot Mathews November 14th
Old news I suspect, but Jack Arnfield is challenging Blackwell now. Still on Channel 5 this Saturday.

Great oppurtunity for Arnfield,he says he's been in the gym ticking over since fighting recently so hopefully he can make a decent fist of it,i cant see him being able to go 12 rounds with Blackwell though, although Nick isnt the biggest puncher he can dig and he's all action for the duration although he can start slowly
I expect Jack to make a good start by outboxing Blackwell before Nick's superb conditioning sees him take over the middle rounds before halting Arnfield in about 8 or 9

I'd like to see Blackwell win a Lonsdale although TBH he's probably more suited to push on from British level than most domestic champs having been in with Murray,Saunders,Bursak and Khomitsky before he even won the British
To even win a British title is massive and probably looked out of his reach at one point so a Lonsdale would be the icing
A rematch with Khomitsky would be great though over a longer distance than the 1st one, ideally with the European at stake

Chris and Jamie Sanigar.
With options....they work closely with several promoters.

That's a good sign, Andrew was a brilliant amateur - its refreshing to see very good boxers get in with decent tests from the start.handsofstone wrote:Andrew Selby fighting a fella whos 10-0(6ko) on undercard

Anyone know why Anfield took 2 years off between 2013 and 2015? Does anyone give him a chance of upsetting Blackwell? He has a bit of a height advantage but his record doesn't suggest much in the way of KO power.

Not sure if its the reason he took the years off but he was jailed for dealing drugs.

On paper Selby looks to be in a good one...but that other guy has got a very weak 10-0 record in reality.

Enjoying the main event so far.
Re: Nick Blackwell v Elliot Mathews November 14th
enjoyable fight this, the problem for Arnfield is Blackwell will never ever punch himself out.anyone else and his toughness to weather the storm it would of been interesting end to the fight.

Be interesting to see the punch stats. Blackwell is gonna be tough to beat (not saying he's gonna go all the way) with that work rate.

standard hennessy show they don't really have good media or know how to market their fights.Old bones Ian wrote:Really poor attendance there by looks of it.
fight was good. bit too one sided for me.
Re: Nick Blackwell v Elliot Mathews November 14th
Andrew Selby impressive again. Needs to move on fast though that Hungarian was well out of his depth.
