God could tolerate Christians being fed to the lions, the Inquisition, WW1, WW2, the holocaust, ISIS, but those two lesbians marrying in Kentucky just may push God over the top.

Tyson Fury is an idiot. In other news the sky is blue and water is wet.
Boxing is littered with idiots, from Hopkins saying he'll never lose to a white man to Tyson saying he'll eat lewis' kids. madness, madness I tells ya

Re: Fury's an idiot
I like Tyson, I find him refreshing in a sea of media trained sportsman, but I do think the things he said are idiotic and beyond stupid.
I've always wondered what people like him feel after they lose when they place so much emphasis on good and evil and God, it must be a huge shock to the system. Not saying he'll lose but he's an underdog for a reason.
I want Tyson to win and I'm not worried about his influence on the general public, which is a funny position for the Mail to take, but I doubt he will.

Freedom of speech goes both ways - Fury should have the freedom to say idiotic things and everyone else should have the freedom to call him an idiot for it. It's fine to say that he shouldn't be sharing his ugly views, but it's not fine to say that he shouldn't be allowed to - the latter of which I don't think anyone here is doing.
Grouping homosexuality with pedophilia is absolutely ridiculous and offensive. Funny thing is, as much as I disagree with Furys' view of the world, I still want him to beat Wlad.

An argument could be made for whether or not a national paper should give him the platform to air such views but that's a different argument.

In terms of ability, how do you think that Fury compares to Sturm on a P4P basis?jezzamundo wrote:Freedom of speech goes both ways - Fury should have the freedom to say idiotic things and everyone else should have the freedom to call him an idiot for it. Re: Fury's an idiot
The sports correspondent from the Telegraph, can't remember his name said yesterday that he had spent time with Tyson and asked him about similar subjects. He asked him what would he do 'if his son turned out to be gay'. Tyson said, 'each to their own as each man has his cross to bear', in reference to the bible. It seems he is just following rules rather than showing his personal feelings on the subject. On top on that by being within a gypsy hard man environment I'd still be very surprised if he disowned his son if we were to be gay.
I like Tyson but he says dumb things from time to time as we all do. I'm not a religious person so I can distance myself from these archaic bigoted beliefs but we all have daft things to say sometimes and we shouldn't be hated for it, just pulled up about it when we do.

Still think he has a wild punchers chance to win if he doesn't uppercut himself.
"Homophobic", huh? What is this a "gay" boxing forum? Anyway, I like the guy a lot more now! But what is this about Wladimir worshipping the devil? Is there a video of all this someplace? Where?

Yeah, it's a boxing forum, but some of us have brains. And yes, Fury has every right to show everyone how stupid he is.

Re: Fury's an idiot
I will say that I have taken a step back away from Team Fury... I do like Tyson as a fighter, and by and large I love the family and its history in the bareknuckle and gloved world... I love the Romany culture... but I didn't really realize just how far he went in his rant, and quite frankly I didn't read the articles or watch the videos of it all being said... But considering it all, I will say it has shook me a bit because it was random, over the top and somehow out of character for even Tyson Fury to say.
The thing that got me was the headline of Fury stating Klitschko was for evil and the like. How he can say so, I'm not exactly sure (again I didnt read the article) but last time I checked Klitschko was a Christian being that most of the Ukraine is Catholic. What bothered me especially was a few days before this was all said... Fury was in a church (Catholic) and the priest allowed Muslims to say prayers as well... Last I checked Muslims denounce Jesus as God, and I would think that a Christian being fine with such things being done in a Christian church... well, that is being hypocritical, if Klitschko is "evil" as it goes in the face of Christianity by turning a house of God into a social experiment of tolerance with other religions.

Were the Burtons Romany? It seems to say here that they were also Irish Travellers, not Romany.
Fury's great grand uncle, Traveler bare knuckle boxer, Uriah Burton:
" When I was 16, I admired only two fighters: Rocky Marciano and Uriah Burton. Everyone had heard of Marciano, the world heavyweight champion who never took a backward step and never lost a fight. But Burton was known only in the secretive world of the Travellers, a name uttered in hushed tones. He was an ogre, they said. He had the strength of five men. He beat opponents two at a time. He would stop at nothing and fight to the death. He sounded like something from the Dark Ages, more myth than man. Only when I came to know him did I realise the stories were true.
