Dublin Card tommorow

Post by Achybreaky »

I was just wondering what the general view was on the dublin card tommorow i personally feel its not bad value at 50 euro a ticket considering how starved ireland has been recently of good shows. Dunne vs wilders is an interesting fight and will show how good dunne is at this stage and if he can push on past his current level onto european and possibly a matchup with hunter. Also the gomez vs mcdonagh fight should be a real tearup, granted magee is fighting well below his level but i see this as a warmup at best. The kenna simpkin fight should be decent although these two are no worldbeaters no doubt they will turn up to fight.

Im biased of course but i just thought i would see what the general feeling about this card is and its getting good coverage on rte aswell which not everybody will get to see but its good to see they are interested.

Bernard Dunne V Noel Wilders
Michael Gomez V Peter McDonagh - Vacant Irish Lightweight Title
Brian Magee V Daniil Prakapsou
Colin Kenna V Luke Simpkin
Stephen Haughian V Duncan Cottier
John O' Donnell V Zaid Bediouri
Andrew Wallace V Adjib Guessab

I was thinking of going, but saving myself to March for Calzaghe Lacy in Manchester and Froch Magee at the Kings Hall in Belfast :TU:

Good Dublin card though, I'll watch it on RTE.

Usually I don't think much of RTÉ but I have to admit , they have played a major role in the rivival of Irish boxing . It's a good card and hopefully more than 2 fights end up being televised (that's all they showed last time :x ) . They put too much time into building up Dunne's fight last time which stopped them showing another one or two fights .

Still I can't wait for tonight , it should be great :D .

I dont think you can unless you can get your hands on an irish sky card mate.

Achy, you going to the Ulster Hall and Kings Hall cards? About time Belfast was put on the Boxing circuit again, but when Froch beats Magee, I can't see the Kings Hall happening for a while.

Good to see John Breen kicking up plans for a Boxing circuit around Northern Ireland, his fighters need local shows and local exposure.
