There will be some you wouldn't want to see. As long as Caparello,Hammond and Buttigiegs fights are on it that will be an acceptable card IMO.Beltane wrote:10 bouts listed on the card but 2 are against that mighty man of boxing: TBA at this late stage.
The question is how many of the 10 or 8 bouts will Main Event actually televise live, as we have been short-changed in the past by Main Event omitting some bouts in their coverages.

Re: Mundine V Hatley
Mundine not looking or sounding particularly confident about this fight. Already offering pre-fight excuses of injured elbows and the old chestnut, hip injury getting a run as well. Came out with the same old cliches in his interviews and they have never come across with less conviction.

A ROUGH WEEK FOR
THE boxing industry ran rife with rumours during the week that my old sparring partner Anthony Mundine, figuratively speaking, was knocked out Thursday in a spar. This is bad news on many fronts for Mundine, who fights Charles Hatley in Melbourne next month. Tickets are already slow, although Mick Gatto has reportedly done a smashing job selling out the tables.
The other concern for Mundine, for those that understand boxing, is that he was moving with a middleweight wearing 16oz gloves. As Mundine and Danny Green circle each other for one final payday, it’s an ominous sign, as the bigger, heavier punching Green will not be wearing anything like 16oz gloves when they finally get in the ring.

See the headline?
"As Bad As It Gets. Mundine Finishes Worst Ever Training Camp"
That is not the vibe of a confident fighter. He is getting the excuses out and on the record in case he loses.

He did the same with Siaca(ankle). Pretty common for Mundine or maybe he's BSing to get a few more buys from people who want to see him lose.

A large portion of the people who pay to see Mundine fight do pay to see him lose. He acknowledges that himself. Not a very popular fighter and getting less popular all the time judging by his falling PPV figures.
Re: Mundine V Hatley
I think that's in the past.
few people would still be buying the ppv after all this time for that reason. certainly nowhere near what it once would have been.
granted u will have the nutters just like the anti green nutters on here that would have bought every single one of his fights just for that. not that they'd admit it though.
a bit like some on here that eat, sleep, dream green/mundine have the gall to say they may watch a replay of green vs mundine2 when they have spare time instead of watching it live, lol. we all know they r gunna watch it that's FACT.

Very strong word at the venue tonight that MUNDINE V GREEN 2 has been agreed for 2016. Signatures imminent, with the fight at 80kgs

Goodnight Anthony. Hope the negotiations for the Green rematch go well for you.

Mundine looked old, Poor showing but good on him for trying. Got a good laugh out of the Buttigieg win.
Re: Mundine V Hatley
What happened with that fight convict? Was it a good decision?
Re: Mundine V Hatley
A pretty good summary of the night's events:
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/ ... 7604709330
Mundine showed great ticker in coming back for the third round after the three knockdown hiding in round two. His age and ring-rust caught up with as Hatley stepped up a gear in the latter rounds before the ref stepped in and the towel was thrown in.
A potential money-spinner fight against Green is his only option now, but last night he took a fearful beating. Hopefully he won't be in the situation now where defeat is an orphan, and victory has a thousand fathers.

Re: Mundine V Hatley
After last night he must retire no wonder Green wants it Mundine is a shadow of his former self
some people will never give him any credit
for what he has achieved in boxing...........................But for me I will always hold him in high regard because i'v watched some highly regarded
amateur's get chewed up and spat out when they get in the the Professional Game and Mundine did put quite afew of these fighter's in their place
along the way...............And some people will never fathom how hard it is for a professional sportsman to give up his first chosen sport and then go to a TOUGH sport like Boxing and make a go of it by defeating opponent's that went to Olympic game's/Amateur World title's etc etc etc etc
SO TO YOU ANTHONY [THE MAN] MUNDINE YOU HAVE NOTHING TO PROVE TO ANY FU.K ESPECIALLY DANNY GREEN

Re: Mundine V Hatley
Colomban clearly out pointed Buttigieg over the 8 rounds - everyone in the ring where in disbelief when the announcement was called even Buttigiegs team. Buttigiegs even lost a point for a low blow however how he won via split decision amazes me.Pureist wrote:What happened with that fight convict? Was it a good decision?

What about the 500 left hook's Buttigieg landed
Re: Mundine V Hatley
A white stick and a labrador were found by the cleaners at the venue, so one assumes these belonged to the judge who scored every round to Buttigieg but at least heard the ref's call about the point to be deducted from Buttigieg for repeated low blows.
The fight was much closer than what this judge scored, and Colomban can feel a tad disappointed at the decision.

I said yesterday Mundine was not looking or sounding particularly confident going into the fight and was already offering up pre-fight excuses.

Can you elaborate on why the suspensions were imposed? Were they enforced recovery periods?AntonS wrote:Hatley's suspensions, albeit he won - indicating he's contested some hard fights
